Happy October, PMCer's! It's the month all of us Halloween and Fall Fanatics have been waiting for! Some of our highlights in this edition of the weekly include the newest official contest and events, results from official and community contests, MINECON and a LIVE terrain class being hosted TONIGHT on the Green Leaf Server!

OFFICIAL EVENTS AND CONTESTS

NEW! We've collaborated with expert terraformer Barbarian to bring you a unique never-been-done-before official Project Contest, UNDISCOVERED CIVILIZATIONS! We all have undiscovered talents and sometimes all it takes is a little inspiration to uncover something inside you with the power of creating entirely new UNDISCOVERED CIVILIZATIONS!!! Yes, YOU... have that power and WE, are here to spark your creative neurons. We hope you enjoy this nearly 2 MONTH long contest cause we're excited to see what the community can discover. Barbarian has generated THREE, out-of-this-world terrains for you to choose from. You are required to download and build on one of these maps in order to enter this contest. Feel free to download all three before making your decision as they are all worth exploring. IN ADDITION to providing 3 terrains for the contest, @Barbarian also created an in-depth tutorial on How to Render with Chunky! Definitley worth a read!		SELECT YOUR STARTER MAP!
FALL FESTIVAL We're excited to announce that we're hosting an official Fall Festival event! If you're new to PMC, you might be wondering what the difference is between a contest and an event - well, unlike contests, there are no judges and no final leader board. Okay, so what's the point? This event is for the pure fun of creating something together as a community and seeing the theme shine through! At the end of the event, each participant will receive a special award for their contribution! Oh, we forgot to mention. You can enter up to FIVE times! So lets see something fall, something halloween, or something in between!

MINECON MADNESS
In case you missed it, last Saturday was Minecon! Who watched it with us? It was a lot of fun being able to chat while they revealed all of the surprises and updates up their sleeves!

After watching Minecon Live, we posted the PMC Weekly and a poll asking everyone what they were most excited about. By an overwhelming amount, The Nether update is what most of you responded with!

We also posted the poll on Twitter, where over 3,000 people voted - the response was the same except The Builders & Biomes board game came in 2nd place, trailing behind the Nether Update by just 7%!

The announcement of the Nether update sparked a lot of conversation on the forum section this week. Here are three hot threads you might want to chime in on!

Drago_ was featured on Minecraft.net for their project Angler Fish! The article outlines the build process of this terrifying fish - from concept to execution! For this project, Drago used editing tools like worldedit, voxelsniper and some new tools by Arcaniax! In the article, there are also some photos of their previous sculptures such as Lion Head and Dragon Head. A read-worthy write-up! Congratulations on your feature!
