Pre-Historic Minecraft Mobs is the theme of the next Official Mob Skin contest! This theme, suggested by ArcaneKnight, was chosen by the community in a tie breaker poll, with 166 vs. 160 votes against the Steampunk Park theme. A close call! In this new mob skin contest, the challenge is to turn a mob into any creature from the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth!

Deadline: October 9 YokaiS is hosting a Datapack Contest themed Marine Wonders. In this contest, datapack makers are challenged to add some features to the underwater world of Minecraft. "This can be a new way to travel through water, tools for underwater, or maybe even new marine life!"
Deadline: October 30 If you love scary things and urban legends then the Asian Horrors contest hosted by h4unt3dg71tch might peak your interest. You are challenged to create a (mob) skin inspired by any urban legend from East Asia. If you don't know much about the subject, the contest page has some useful links with info. Some are pretty scary! 😱

RESULTS were announced for Pleasenotme's Relics Data Pack Contest. Participants were tasked with creating a powerful and mysterious magical item into the game that are obtainable in a survival playthrough. The resulting entries are all fun, we encourage you to try them out!

ART GALLERY🎨

cheyko posted a digital drawing of themselves in a wall post. In the post, they indicate they drew this while they weren't feeling well - we hope you're better now and can enjoy the weekend! If you'd like to see more wonderful art by them, they have about a dozen art blogs!	This drawing by Eli the Zeratoed is Cameron Diaz in Zeratoad form. In the wall post, Eli states they've been drawing Cameron Diaz every year on her birthday. This is this year's birthday drawing of her! Noobator downloaded blockbench and experimented a little bit - they made the axe you see above. We have a feeling they have a knack for 3D Modeling and we can't wait to see more!
inzanely published an art blog showcasing some digital character art, the creature above and assorted photography. Be sure to visit the blog and take a look. There's cat photo's! 🐱	Meowify shared this digital drawing of a green and purple dragon mid-flight above the ocean in a wall-post. We love the contrasting colors and the dynamic scene in this!
inzanely also shared an artwork by her sister __orchid, in a wall-post. This character looks like they're ready for adventure! 🛡️ Withinder made a wall-post to share this drawing of their D&D character, looking ready to strike with a shiny iron sword!	MoonAstraea shared some nighttime art in a wall-post, featuring their character floating between the sun, earth and moon. A very cool scene!

SWEATER WEATHER SKINS 🎃

Fall is around the corner! And this week Mellie posted their first fall skin of the year! We love the added details of a small witch hat and pumpkin hair clip!	Also fall-themed is this cozy skin that was posted by Kaxiva this week. Wearing a pumpkin in her hair and a big warm green sweater, this girl is ready for autumn weather!	Another sweather-weather skin is this one by InkedRoses. Even warmer with a warm red scarf for colder autumn nights. Super cozy! The warm colors really suit the fall mood. 😁

CHARACTER REMAKES

Tick Tock by PickleCat PickleCat tried out a new shading style by recreating a skin of their OC from 2019! The new version has an upgraded design, and it also comes with an alternative version where the character's face is not covered by a clock mask! 🕑 We really like both versions!
Soul Forager by FishStacks FishStacks also made a new version of a previous skin design. A soul from another realm now wandering through forests: the Soul Forager. We love this character's design and think the upgraded looks suits this soul well!

MARVELOUS MAPS

ELDHAM CASTLE

Team QuanticsBuild built this stunning castle as their entry in the Gamepass Challenge 2021(FR, external link). The map contains several places to visit, such as a crypt, a horse racing track and a statue of a pig! The map is free to download and in the description you can find the teleport commands to go to each of these locations. Be sure to head over to the submission page to take a look at the various amazing rendered images that the team shared of this build!



WINCHESTER, 890 A.D.

This incredible historical map, featuring the city of Winchester in 890 A.D., was submitted by Dwarfsosi. It was built with help of the Angelocraft build team and can be visited on their build server. While the build has been scaled down to about a quarter the size of the actual city, it still includes all of the most important historical buildings that were recorded from that time. Most of the interiors are done as well! Be sure to visit the submission page to learn more about the build process and the history of (buildings in) Winchester!


FRESH FOOD DATAPACKS

Cravings is a data pack that adds a brand new system for food! Created by Devons_Desk, when you install this data pack, you wake up every morning and receive a craving for a random food category (Baked goods, fruit, vegetables, liquids, proteins and....trash). If you fulfill your craving before night time, you'll be rewarded bonus effects! This pack is a part of Devon's bigger pack, True Survival which is also worth taking a look at!

This pack may not change the entire Minecraft food system, but adds a few tweaks to make your culinary experience more robust! Josh's More Foods by Josh Mats adds a rice making station that is used to craft rice related items such as rice and rice bowls - and even fried rice! Yum! 🍚 The data pack also adds different bread variants, salads, sandwiches, seafood (including sushi!), and desserts!

REDSTONE FEATURES

If you've ever wanted to explore and learn about Redstone, mshailz has been releasing several useful tools over the weeks including a Redstone: 101 Tutorial Blog series that contains 5 separate blogs. The blogs break down Redstone in an easy-to-digest format and are really easy to follow! This week, she released an Educational Redstone map is for beginners to learn and understand the basics of Redstone. The map is interactive and broken down into cubicles where you'll find written Redstone recipes for each device contained in that cubicle. The Redstone is exposed so you can watch exactly how it works! This map is especially helpful with the Redstoner's Resource Pack which includes useful directional arrows on some components and better visuals.

eagoy's Redstone Slide ruler is an entry into the Redstone Build contest (deadline has passed) and it is a functional analogue calculator! The slide ruler dates back to the 1600's and was the tool used most often in science and engineering.	A working Redstone chess board? You betcha'! mattbatwings created this complex redstone map with the help of a friend. Using stone and wood buttons, you can select and move your chess pieces. You can even promote pawns to queens. Be sure to watch the video to see this game in action, and for a behind-the-scenes look at how it works!

LOVELY MOBS

You might not expect a blaze covered in daisies, a strawberry jelly zombie or a panda overgrown with moss, but the results of these cute creative concepts are pretty adorable! 🍓 This week, tiltedbunni shared these and several other very sweet looking mob skins!
