You can have a datapack on any scale, with anything you want, except from packs that needs use of experimental features (worldgen) or has any changed/edited game textures. (bad at drawing)

If I find them interesting, I'll make it happen.

Note:
- By leaving your ideas here, you're giving me (and others who wants to make the ideas for you) full access to your idea.

- Means people can do anything they want with it, whether you like it or not.
+ If you only want me to do it, here's an alternative.

(I've seen some people who gives others ideas then cause drama by saying they "stole the ideas".)

I dont know if its possible to make it as a datapack. But it would be kinda helpful to have a datapack like this instead of a mod.

The idea: press a button do mirror/rotate 180° the facing of a block while placing like piston, observer, dispencer etc.
If you place a piston, its head will always face the player and with that the piston faces into the block you were aiming at.

That is not possible due to raw input checks isn't possible with just datapack tools just yet.
(There are workarounds, but there isn't one for each and every key press)

That said, I had an idea similar to this in my plans list,
but I planned to do it to a variety of blocks like observers and things ...
(mainly observers cause I have a problem with them)

Currently still figuring out how to make a good way for players to adjust the values to whatever they want.
If I can get that all planned out, might make it possible.

An idea that I had and started implementing, but as usual was too lazy to complete: A data pack that lets you hire soldiers!

You can hire a soldier from a special villager, called the army commander or whatever you want.

Currency can be gold or emerald, depending on what you think is more appropriate. For simplicity I'll use gold here, feel free to change that.

The trades will be something like this:
  • 5 gold ingots + 6 leather -> Leather-armour footsoldier (stone sword)
  • 5 gold ingots + 6 iron -> Iron-armour footsoldier (iron sword)
  • 5 gold ingots + 6 diamond -> Diamond-armour footsoldier (diamond sword)
  • 5 gold ingots + 1 netherite ingot -> Netherite-armour footsoldier (netherite sword)
  • 7 gold ingots + bow -> Archer (only available in leather armour)
  • 10 gold ingots + saddle -> Horse-rider (iron armour and sword)
  • 50 gold ingots + saddle -> Elite horse-rider (diamond armour and sword)
  • 10 gold ingots + 6 leather -> Leather-armour banner-bearer (stone sword)
  • 10 gold ingots + 6 iron -> Iron-armour banner-bearer (iron sword)
  • 10 gold ingots + 6 diamond -> Diamond-armour banner-bearer (diamond sword)


The soldiers will technically be tamed wolves.

Leather armoured soldiers will be able to have their armour dyed by throwing dyes on them. Banner bearers will be able to have their banners replaced by throwing banners on them.




Soldiers will have armour and attack damage values as per their armour and sword


Soldiers will have a guard mode (perhaps throw a stick at a soldier to put it in guard mode), in which they would target any nearby non-peaceful mobs and nearby players that are not whitelisted in their memory and do not have the same owner UUID. To whitelist an entity, put the soldier in whitelisting mode (by throwing paper on it maybe?). It will then whitelist all nearby entities.

Technical stuff  
Whitelisting will probably need some sort of complicated setup with UUIDS in an array of objects in the nbt tag of an item held by the wolf

Age of Empires? My favorite.

I originally had an idea that's kinda like that, but is a nod from the game Age of Empires (since there's a wololo easter egg, why can't there be an AoE datapack?) that gives you the ability to train troops via a Barracks (it's an in-game building). (and order them around, too)

Might make it happen once I'm done with the new Advancement Scripter.

(background stuff, I make tools for my own use to help me with certain bits that I find ... annoying while writing datapack code. Got one for almost every aspect of datapacks.)

Anyways, good idea!

Not really. My Scripter Series (a combination of my Scripter packs I've designed) is designed to counter large-scaled datapacks, and make them easier to make.

Since I'm making lots of stuff by myself, I need some tools to back me up.
So I made them myself instead of using them off the internet like what a normal person would do.

I would love nothing more than someone to nerf skeletons to stop them from being aim perfect. I feel like you should be able to rush, after dodging their arrows to get in close. Maybe by having them retreat when you get too close like how they do with wolves but slower to not be annoying. Making it so a shield does indeed make it easier but not required.

Skeletons' accuracy is based on difficulty.

They miss alot more often in Easy and has aimbot like abilities on Hard.



In Hard, it's still possible to dodge their arrows though.

That's true, but when you rush them they will always hit you when you get close. This is if you are fighting them with a sword & not a bow. I just feel like if you dodge the arrows to get in close, the enemies shouldn't continue shooting you but instead move away.

make a datapack that lets you customize villager trades! for example if you use, lets say, 8 emerald blocks, and give the villager the payment and the purchase, then he will add that trade? And a creative system. I'm trying too make a bedwars map and I'm not good at commands. So this will help!

If you've watched My Hero Academia you might get this But how about some kind of Decay Datapack where if you hit someone it would effect them with wither 150 or something.

Maybe add a datapack that causes any arrows/projectiles except thrown potions to break glass blocks (up to one glass block, so a glass greenhouse or some other glass build wouldn't be overly destroyed by one arrow)

I'd like a way to make floating candles look more like Will o' Wisp. Either by turning the candles into embers when they are not on top of an object or a secondary tool to turn them into Wisp.

Or just adding colorful Wisp into the game in general.

In one way or another, make a datapack that restores old combat by removing the cooldown timer and weapon speed, and balancing damage use for axes, swords, things of that nature.

I've gone OP mode for fame (I never make packs for fame) and tricked Steveee into putting it on an actual vid, you bet I will.

(I mean I can make datapacks that crashes computers ... I did it on myself multiple times ... *sinister laugh*)

I speak from experience when I say that Cyprezz doesn't like data packs that even make the world unusable. So I doubt a PC-Crashing data pack would be allowed XD

That is partially why I only use these techs on myself while testing. (didn't use them on purpose, it happened during testing)

if I post these up on a bugtracker I doubt Mojang would fix them,
judging from their resolution to my Bigger Bundles bug.

I also see lots of other bugs that only affect the datapacking scene that also got marked as either Won't fix or WAI.

so simply put - Mojang doesn't fix bugs that don't affect vanilla gaming.

Plus, I don't really want to make packs that ruins others that much, it's not my style.
