I want to use Magic Launcher to install mods, but whenever I try to use them, it says Modloader is needed. Then when I try to install ModLoader using Magic Launcher, it won't load Minecraft and just gives me a long line of code that looks like this:
*** MagicMinecraftLauncher 0.9.7 ***

Am I doing something wrong? Why won't it work? And If I am doing it wrong, how am I supposed to do it?

Hi. I've been using modloader on magic launcher for months. I'm using magic launcher 0.9.8, modloader for 1.2.5 and mcpatcher. I had to look up versions of modloader for days before I got one that worked well on magic launcher (not all modloader 1.2.5 zips are exactly the same: there might be small changes within the file). I don't remember where I downloaded my copy, but if you want, I can send it to you. You might also need forge and modloadermp, so I can send them too. If you like, you can look up versions in minecraft forums, planet minecraft and minecraftdl. This is where I usually get my mods.
Hope I've been of some help.

For Windows 7 (should work also on XP, though)

How to Install ModLoader for Mac
*These steps are a little bit complicated. So, follow it step-by-step.
1.Go to Application->Utitlities and Find Terminal App
2.In Terminal App type in these commands, line by line
1.cd ~
2.mkdir mctmp
3.cd mctmp
4.jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar
3.Don’t close the terminal yet, go outside and copy all the files and folders into the mctmp folder that created by command line in previous step
4.Go back inside the Terminal, type in
1.rm META-INF/MOJANG_C.*
2.jar uf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./
3.cd ..
4.rm -rf mctmp
5.Finally, Finished!
This TuT was on their site, I hope it helps.

Well Windows is better if you're playing games and installing mods for minecraft. *as it is easier.*
I would help but I've never used a Mac or atleast don't remember using one :/

If it was simple, it would have worked the last 80 times I tried it. I have a Mac, so Winrar is out of the question, and the "way around it" that involved decompressing the jar into a folder, inserting them there, then renaming the folder minecraft.jar has only given me the black screen of death. And yes, I did delete META-INF.

Bump at most once every 24 hours please.
Why don't you just drag the files into your minecraft jar. It's simple.

I know I'll sound stupid, but I have no clue as to what you mean.
There is a check box on the mod loading screen that says "external mods", though. Just so you know, that's not checked.
