Perhaps you should consider doing a Christmas themed contest? I'm pretty sure a lot of people would like that, considering the time of year ^_^

Maybe something like a winter-wonder-land? Or something along those lines, I think it would work really well, and a lot of people would love it

I know you're not supposed to re-post things, but is it ok if I delete it, and reupload it??? :/ As I have tried that twice and it still isn't working

EDIT: It's ok, I finally got it sorted. I turned it to a draft, then re-uploaded it, then saved it as a live again, and it worked ty anyway

sorry mate. if you were a day quicker, i might have been able to take you on, but i've found all the team i need now. I have 3 programmers, an assistant artist and an assistant writer, so my team is set.

good luck learning though. (from what i hear, its tough, and needs a lot of maths. a particular area i fail at :L) Thanks anyway!

Ok, thanks everyone for your input and I have found out that actually some people I know do some coding, and have agreed to do the project for me. So thanks again everyone, but this thread is now closed

Urgh, ok. I think it's best if I spend a few months learning to code, then putting the game together myself over this summer, as I have 3 months.

Hopefully that should get some of the game done. :/ Thanks for your advice Mafilix, and would there be any chance of helping out in a few months time, or maybe soon, to see how my codeing is? Want to be a kind of alpha-tester too?

Well, to be honest I don't know anything about coding, and if either of you think you are able to code a 2D top-down shooter (pokemon style kind of thing, with a centre sprite on a 3D looking world) then let me know. Here is a more detailed criteria:

You must be able to:
- Code a generic moving character to move on the screen as I stated above.
- Able to make NPC's that talk to you (no voice acting, just text) and I will supply the script.
- Make enemy NPC's of different styles, ie. normal troopers that are like the main character or boss NPC's that are larger with a different AI.
- Use the sprites and sets I provied.
- Be able to follow detailed instructions on my level design and story.
- Able to do most basic coding in making this desired game.

Hope this helps with the guideline of tasks you may be required to do

Also, I already have a company willing to publish this game when it is made, so as long as you can do a good job of it, you will recieve a share of the income. (more details on that at a later date once the game is in production once I hear more from the publisher).

How not experianced are you? Have you done anything before? And would it be possible for you to actually make this game? :/

Urgh, *facepalm* moderators must really get fed up with this.

There is a server section of the website, and ur supposed to use that.

I suggest you post ur server there. Chances are it will get more views anyway.

To be honest, I'd reccomend a little server called CKMGaming.

IP: ckmgaming.net
(also their website)

It's great as it has an amazing community that will always help you, and PvP was recently turned off and won't be coming back on, so you won't die.

If you just ask to join a town the mayor will supply you with most resources (that aren't rare, don't ask for diamonds :L) so you can build a house etc. And once you get started, its great. You can make loads of friends on there, and is deffinitly the best server i've ever played on.

And if you can, ask to join Luc's town.

Try advertising on Minestatus.com or even posting it on here, on the servers post section. There are plenty of free advertising sites for minecraft servers, you've just got to google it

Hope this helps.

Also, what does your server feature? Because me and my gaming group could do a video on it and post it to help promote it if you want

Skins get you barely any exp (unless they are done well), because the majority on PMC get less than 10 views per day, after they've left the "recently updated" column.

So I'd recommend doing an adventure. Just put your heart and soul into it! Make it good, and spend, say, a month doing it. Then post weekly updates so people know about it (I am doing this at the moment), then do a big launch and the exp should flood in!

Or you could do a texture pack, however this is VERY time consuming (trust me, i know) and unless it's done well, it will only gain you a few levels. - But can be rewarding if done to a high standard, and can top you up to level 20 in no time!
