JetraRoadyjrSo i was thinking that minecraft 1.8 is not going to become very widely used for a few main reasons,
‣Bukkit no longer is being devoloped.
‣Spigot no longer being developed.
the following quote is directly from a spigot developer.Edit: I wish to make clear this is not the end for Spigot. We will keep on developing and we will keep on fighting. It is only a short matter of time before things will be sorted out.The Minecraft server community has not come this far over this many years to be killed by a single blow from a disgruntled developer.
‣MInecraft 1.8 is really laggy even with a decent computer.
*I get major lagspikes every few seconds even with 6GB of RAM set for mincraft.*
‣Cant use item ids anymore
ok this one is pretty stupid but i personally have memorized alot of minecraft item ids and i really hate this.
‣Mods and modpacks will be impossible to use
they will be really hard to use because 1.8 is laggy enough on its own and only GOD knows what it would be like if there was a modpack on 1.8.
OK so leave a comment to let me know if you think the 1.8 is going to last or if you think people are going to switch back to 1.7.10 or even if people are just going to stop playing all together.
Last I heard, Dinnerbone took over the development of Bukkit and I don't see what the big deal about losing something like that is. You still can play servers, they'd just have to be pure vanilla, no plugins whatsoever if I understand what it does and like you said Spigot is still going to be updated as well which is good in of itself.
As for item ids, I'm happy they're gone with, I can never remember the things myself and I was expected to memorized some 250 or so of them? Yeah no, if I know what item I want, I want to name it, not ask for id 33576 something or other. Would be nice if they allowed you to use either one, but that's just my opinion.
