Think about how many successful servers you name right off the bat.
Mineplex, Shotbow, and a few others.
Now think about how many servers exist.
A lot.

Those are your chances of being successful. Even if you have a good server, you need a lot of luck for the right people to join your server. Sometimes, advertising and contacting YouTubers helps.

Server listings help too, and they are free. Encourage your players to vote but don't go overboard.

But advertising will never work if your players are not cared for by a loving staff, if your server has lag, or if the server is boring/not unique. Also, some people will hate pay to win servers, so make sure your VIP rank is fair.

And, finally, don't use Enjin. Ever. It's outdated, and looks really bad no matter how much work you put into it.

I've used GIMP and Paint.NET and everytime, I always end up preferring Paint.NET. Paint.NET's ease of use, performance, and development process keeps me coming back everytime. Although GIMP may offer more features out of the box, it does so in a somewhat clunky interface I find counter intuitive, and Paint.NET offers these features in plugins, as said earlier.

in your web browser. If not, your internet is bad.
It seems like the SSL connection is bad, someone might be tampering with it, are you at a school or a business?

Regime is not bad, it means a government.
Take over the world not by force, or at least not officially. There might be uprising by the people to join my global unitarian government.
And I don't get the hate with communism.

I would invest $2b into an account in a Swiss bank.
Then, I would donate $100m to malaria prevention and treatment, $100m to providing clean water globally, and $100m to buy Fez and Polytron. I would use $200m to live off of, maybe buy a Bitcoin mining computer, and a game development computer, some servers for Minecraft hosting, and a normal house, with a pool and garden.
And living expenses would be paid with the interest from the account and the excess would be used to expand the server and bitcoin ventures.
After my ventures got underway, I would use them to benefit the charitable causes I mentioned above even more.

And then after I get famous for philanthropy, I will take over the world with a communist democratic regime.

‣Bukkit no longer is being devoloped.
‣Spigot no longer being developed.

ok this one is pretty stupid but i personally have memorized alot of minecraft item ids and i really hate this.

they will be really hard to use because 1.8 is laggy enough on its own and only GOD knows what it would be like if there was a modpack on 1.8.


OK so leave a comment to let me know if you think the 1.8 is going to last or if you think people are going to switch back to 1.7.10 or even if people are just going to stop playing all together.


Last I heard, Dinnerbone took over the development of Bukkit and I don't see what the big deal about losing something like that is. You still can play servers, they'd just have to be pure vanilla, no plugins whatsoever if I understand what it does and like you said Spigot is still going to be updated as well which is good in of itself.

As for item ids, I'm happy they're gone with, I can never remember the things myself and I was expected to memorized some 250 or so of them? Yeah no, if I know what item I want, I want to name it, not ask for id 33576 something or other. Would be nice if they allowed you to use either one, but that's just my opinion.


Dinnerbone probably isn't going to continue bukkit, because now he has to rewrite thousands of lines of codes that were found to be infringing on wolvereness' copyright.

No plugins means it would be exactly like a Vanilla LAN world. No minigames or even enhanced commands will keep many servers on 1.7.
Spigot is not going to be updated, since it is a fork of bukkit.

Item IDs are irrelevant to memorizing them. They can still be referenced in commands, they just refer back to the Material they should be the ID for, like DIAMOND_SWORD.

You can have a repeating object infinitely generated, that way you don't have to worry about hard drive space, and you can use chunks so your memory doesn't get full.
But that would make for a boring game.

So you could store a seed and in the game program how you would generate from the seed. Then, document every change make to the seed and regenerate every time the world is started.
