This is a group for essentially making collage texture packs - packs where each texture is made by a different person, each with their own unique style! The end results will be posted as public texture packs, with everyone who contributed being credited!

Maybe you (DGAGSYSD) should have more clearly allowed dual entries with the normal under the rainbow thing.
I had to submit it to one then the other in a specific order to have an answer in case someone actually asked any questions since I'm pretty sure it was collage that said "new textures only" and the other one that didn't... =P
yeah, there was a huge lack of communication between the groups and it didn't really get enough entries since it was based on a month long thing (which is not enough time), so it's just been kinda sitting there. Might close it temporarily and reopen it again next year, hopefully it'll get more entries and can be released

It's run like a pre-jam unofficial event, here's the forum page for the current one that's running, you can join whenever you like! Just claim a texture so nobody takes it while you're working on it, and submit it when you can! It's gonna go until the end of the month

1.20 has been released, and the event is accepting entries for the update! Armor trims, cherry blossom wood, decorated pots, sniffers, camels, and everything else is available!
As well as many other things, like most of the entire game. There's not many entries, but there is still a lot of time! If you're interested at all in retexturing something, go ahead and claim it before someone else does!

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled Collage update - for those who aren't aware, Collage is a group dedicated to running community made texture pack events!
The second main Collage event, Block by Block, is running! The start has been pretty slow, but that only means that there's a lot open!
If you're interested in participating, now is a great time to do so! Diamond tools, the Ender Dragon (as well as literally every mob in the game), and everything else that was commonly asked for last year is up for grabs!
The end goal of this is to have a texture pack that changes as much as possible, basically turning the game into an art piece of a bunch of different styles and skills blended together - and we still have quite a long way to go, so if you're interested, go claim some textures!

The second main event of Collage is now open and is planned to run for the whole year - the goal is to top the previous event and get as much content in this one as possible!
If this is the first time you're seeing a Collage post, the event is based around creating a community made texture pack! Entries are textures that will be added into a pack that'll be released when the event closes (which will be a while, these take time)
With January coming to an end soon, it's time to start setting up the next event! The plan is to have it open with the February monthly update; it'll be run similarly to the previous event only a bit more organized now that we have a better feel of how this kind of thing works.
Anyway, the reason for this post: The event needs a name! (The last one was already kind of lame for having the same name as the group itself, so let's not do that again.)
Personally, I was thinking of naming it something similar to the word collage ("Patchwork," "Mix and Match," "Throw it at the wall and see what sticks," etc.)
If any of those sound good or you have your own ideas, please let me know because I suck at coming up with names

Finally, the first Collage event has ended! (In hindsight, there really should have been more reminders of the deadline during December - sorry about that)

The texture pack will be released very soon, there are some final touches that need to be made before it's ready. It shouldn't take long, so doesn't come out by Friday please send me (stlMitch) a very angry PM for procrastinating
What's next?
The plan for Collage was to always have an event running, so now that this one is over, a new one shall take its place soon. Now that Collage has been around for a little while and gained a bit of a following, the next one will be even bigger and better!
Oh also, it will be on a forum again - not a Jam. This is because individual texture files can't be posted to PMC as a submission, which is required for Jams.

The pack is looking great, however, we REALLY need the common blocks to be retextured!
It'll really tie the whole thing together if we can get blocks like stone, dirt, grass, deepslate, and maybe netherrack!
If you're interested in doing even one of these, please, go for it!
Don't have any experience with making textures? Not a problem!
Making a texture is as simple as making a square image of a block or item - you don't even need to worry about messing with the files if you want to participate, you just need to make the texture itself!
(The rules don't even specify that it has to be pixel art, if ya wanna get creative)
Also, you aren't limited to just items and blocks: If you wish to make mobs, paintings, particle effects, or even the GUI, it's up for grabs if nobody has already taken it!
Some textures do work a bit weirdly because of how the game reads it, but don't worry if you make some kind of technical error - I will help you fix it! Don't be afraid to ask for help!
Monthly announcements are a thing now!(Just as long as I remember to make them)

I was thinking more of people having the option to send entries by posting it to the group, or *maybe* a way to edit and repost an official event pack once it's released, which would usually not be allowed since it's considered stealing (this would allow the pack to continue growing after the deadline)
Heavy emphasis on "maybe" there because I'd need permission from everyone who entered that they're ok with it, it's just an idea right now

There's finally a deadline!
After running for about nine freakin months, a deadline has finally been set: The end of the year, December 31. Due to the nature of texturing and its community, these events will have to run for a lot longer than standard skin or art based events usually last.
There is a LOT of work that needs to be done when making a large scale texture pack, and it takes time to get everything needed to make the pack feel complete.
The pack needs more Overworld blocks!!
The End has been almost entirely retextured, and it looks beautiful. Chunks of the Nether have been redone, and they look great. But the Overworld still feels rather untouched.
What the pack really needs to feel more complete are some common Overworld blocks. The basic blocks you can't play the game without seeing. Grass, dirt, stone, cobble, ores, wood, you get the idea.
If we can get these blocks retextured, the pack will finally feel like a proper texture pack.
Even if you only want to do one of these blocks, please, go for it! You can make as many or as few textures as you want.
Claims will now expire
There's been a problem with people making claims, and then either forgetting them or abandoning them (none of my business what the reason is), so I've decided that if a claim is fairly old, and I haven't heard from whoever made the claim, it will expire.
Everything under an expired claim is once again open for whoever wants it.
PMC Jams are great for community hosted events, as they no longer have to be forced to run on forum pages.
Unfortunately for Collage, PMC Jams require entries to be posted as submissions on the website, just like the old official events. This doesn't really work for how the Collage events run, so these will have to remain on forum pages.
Anyway, huge thanks to everyone who's participated so far! There is some beautiful work in this, and I can't wait to see what it will look like when it's finally finished!

If you've changed your mind and want to remove your claim, that's perfectly fine, just lemme know so I can take it off the list

It's about 12 hours later than I wanted to because I'm an idiot and didn't use the schedule post button right, but to celebrate pride month, Collage is doing a collaboration event with Under The Rainbow!
It's a pride themed texture based event, entries will be textures that'll be compiled into a released pack!
