Bro you create a tool. then look for an underwater structure, look for a block, use the tool on the block and pray that it gives you the egg. Once you got the egg you place it down and wait for it to hatch, if you want to wait less, then get a block and place the egg on the block. After it hatches, wait for it to grow up. After it grows up, wait until it sniffs the ground and finds seeds. When it gets the seeds, plant them and wait for them to grow up. Congratulations! You have either got the Torchflower which you can just place and be crafted into 2 orange dye. or if you have planted a different type of seed, you will get the Pitcher pod, which you can just place and be crafted into 2 cyan dye.
Mojang could have added some more plants, and gave each of them unique uses instead of giving us two plants which can only be used as decoration or crafted into dye
