Not saying anything against your parents, they have the right to parent you any way they see fit. There is always two sides of the story and it may be the case that your grades are slipping because you are spending too much time playing games.

In saying that, I have found in the past, parents tend to ban children from things they themselves do not like or understand or never played. Technology scares alot of people and they think it will go away if they ignore it. Instead of banning, parents should play, learn what the game is about so they know what their children are doing. Thats how i got started with minecraft. Then 9 year old wanted to play, bought the game, started playing...that was 4 years ago. Still playing I like survival, skyblock she lives pvp and creative.

It is still possible to play minecraft with intergrated graphics..its slow, laggy and you have to have everything turned off. OPtifine helps alot. Daughter has crappy laptop for school and i had to fiddle with it so she could play minecraft on it but it does work.

You will be waiting awhile for their generation to die out, my generation was the first gamers and we havent quiet gone yet, one foot in the grave but still hanging on! Parents havent changed much since my day. My mother could not understand my liking for computers and everyone on the internet were an axe murderer. My first computer game i played was Lemonade Stand on an Apple, in grade 10 Maths class..the year was 1978!
