Since Duvain Feynorim has his Hovind videos I might as well respond with the somewhat better Genesis hermeneutic offered by Mike Jones' videos, here's that: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1mr9ZTZb3TUeQHe-lZZF2DTxDHA_LFxi

Just a random thought: You seem like you'd make a good Mando'ad, given the right information. Keep up the atin, vod.

Yea, more like one-third of a language, but that gives it character I guess. Creates a distinct divide between the imposters and the real thing.

This is interesting. I think it's almost always better when fictional societies have their own language because it adds an extra flair of realism.

It is very much weird, yes. I have no idea where they got that from.

That's very interesting actually. True Mandalorian culture embodies courage, honor, skill, compassion (surprisingly, they make great parents), shereshoy (you only live once), ramikadyc (the warrior mindset) and ori'beskayc (no-nonsense toughness), so that makes a lot of sense.

Since it is almost impossible to find an accurate picture of true Mandalorian culture it from any meaningful source and I feel you might be intrigued by the lesser-known version, I thought I'd go over it a bit here. I would be a bit more brief, but in my defense the subject itself is shrouded beneath many terrible assumptions and also I talk too much (clearly):

There are four distinct types of Mandalorians as a result of new canon. However, the original ones from what is now legends canon are the only group that adheres to the Resol'nare, and is thus true Mando.
This leaves us with the original Mando'ad. Forgetting all appearances and misconceptions that might be already instilled in the brain, the concept of Manda'lor is a very simple culture. It is not a race (as some think), nor a nation, and definitely not a religion (I'm looking at you, cultist aruetiise). It is an idea. This idea is outlined by the Resol'nare, or the six statutes. These statutes (on education, armor, self-defense, family, language, and leadership) are at the core of Mandalorian society. Every other twisted version of the common Mando (all of them onscreen) fails at about half of these (all of them fail language), rendering each group defunct and dar'manda. A true Mando warrior embodies much what any tribal culture might: he/she raises their children as Mando'ade, wears the beskar'gam (armor), defends their family, speaks Mando'a, and rallies under the Manda'lor in times of need. The culture is everything. Anyone who mentions it being a race, nation, or religion, encapsulated by tradition, or anything like that is sorely mistaken.

btw Some other misconceptions I can't stand hearing about include the phrase "this is the way" (or "ibic haar yust" as we Mando'ade would say). It makes no sense in a utilitarian society devoid of tradition. Also no matter what anyone says, Boba Fett is totally Mando. Both he and Jango Fett were the ruling Manda'lor at one time or another.

I hope that clears some things up, without boring you to death.

That's good to know, I thought the helmet rule seemed weird. Also, as a side note, I looked up atin and it seems interestingly similar to my culture's concept of sisu, meaning toughness, determination and stubborness in my ancestral language of Finnish. I find it interesting how you essentially noticed a part of my personality that's an important part of my own culture. Very perceptive.

As I said, the right information. The Mandalorian is a fine space western, but unfortunately is full of inaccuracies. In no way is Mando culture a religion with weird quirks (or whatever they make it out to be). As I heard it said somewhere else, "Mandalorian culture is practical and emphasizes utility over ceremony." There is no rule about keeping your buy'ce on at all times, no matter what sources say otherwise.

Have you ever considered making a blog about zombie pigmen?

Perhaps talking about what were like they before they were zombified, were they just normal pigs or were they pigs that had done something special, or were they even pigs?

I think it could be a cool blog idea.
