Notice: GroupManager has moved to another URL, so if you downloaded in the past few days, you might have some trouble with it. Reported bugs include: nothing happens upon log-in, resulting with the player stuck in a dark room forever.

Since launching PMCSkin3D, our skin editor has supported the creation of HD skins...

Today, you can publish HD PLAYER skins to the PMC skins section!

Check out Cyprezz's HD skin, Egyptian God of Horus!
While they are listed alongside standard definition skins, they are easily identifiable and filtered using the "Format" filter. We support 128x128 resolution because it's officially supported by the Bedrock Edition.

Besides the higher resolution, it's easy to identify HD skins by their isometric preview and label "HD Bedrock Minecraft Skin". HD skins can only be downloaded. We are unable to support remote change or papercraft.

      Game Version Support
HD skins are officially supported by the Minecraft Bedrock Edition and unofficially supported in Minecraft Java Edition with the use of Optifine the MorePlayerModels mod.

Note: If you've already published your HD player skins in a blog, you can republish them without taking down your blog. It's up to you.

Contest hosts - We've been adding results to the Calendar! If your deadline is greyed-out and you'd like the results of your contest included, please let us know in the comment section of the calendar and link to the results. Deadlines greater than 2 weeks will be removed to keep things tidy!

Interested in hosting a contest or event of your own? Below the calendar you'll see several tips! You can also refer to this tutorial for an in-depth guide. Banners aren't mandatory but they are encouraged because it not only attracts attention, but it might also end up on the pop reel, which means more visibility and possibly more participants! We also include new contests with banners in the PMC Weekly. Be sure to check out this How to guide by DinowCookie if you're not sure where to start!

Don't see your contest listed? Please provide the title of your contest with a link, type of contest, and deadline in the comment section of the Community Event Calendar.

Another note: we're always accepting PMC Weekly Feature suggestions! Whether you're proud of your own work or someone else's work caught your eye this week, send us a PM with the link to the project, skin, pack, mod or blog!

Have a great rest of the week PMCer's!

      Minecraft Project based on Subnautica:

I would like to inform you, that beta testing is now open. Everyone can download the project and start playing. Keep in mind that this is Early Access. I don't plan on updating it anymore, however, I will fix bugs if any are found. And I know there will be bugs because that's just the way big projects are. If you want to have the most engaging experience, maybe you should wait a little while, until some of the bigger bugs have been found. It all depends on how quick players will find them, though. Will there be any continuation? No. As I said, this is the final 'Update'. Later, I'm just gonna do bug fixing, from time to time, when I have a while. Don't expect it too often, though.

In the thread, there is a video installation guide. When you download the Project, you will also receive a written version. It's up to you which one you want to use. The installation might seem overwhelming at first, I know it's complicated, totally different from any other Minecraft-related installation. However, I tried to show everything clearly, so you should be able to get through it, even if you don't have the slightest idea about what you're doing. I assure you that all the files that the Installation needs you to download are safe to use and free to download. Every needed plugin or asset comes from its official website.

When you finish a creation this big, you realize how much you've learned and how much effort it took. It's the kind of effort that can't even be measured anymore. This project has 36 thousand lines of code. But does it really matter? It's not just code, it's photographing textures. Sometimes I walk around my neighborhood, I look at a cobble wall and I realize, "Wow, this is where I got that texture from, I didn't even remember". Some textures need normal, specular, and emissive maps. Every texture needs to be edited. How many of them are there? I don't know, doesn't matter. And there's so much more stuff to do, in different fields, fields that most people don't even realize could be necessary for a Minecraft thing. Sound design, Sea Emperor voice lines, sound reverberation, 3D Modelling, video effects, CGI, basic cinematography to get that dramatic 3D look on the item textures. But no one really has an idea about any of these. For some, the most advanced thing you could possibly do with Minecraft, is, I don't know, build something. Please, with a project this big, building something is pretty much nothing. It's nothing, nothing that you will do in the meantime when the 3D software finishes rendering. I'm gonna stop here, I don't wanna make this too long, even though I'm only halfway through. I can't even comprehend all the stuff I did, let alone someone who just visits a page and sees a finished product. You wonder if it's easy to get people to click on this sort of thing, to get some traffic? I learned it partially through this, it is pretty hard out there. But at the same time, it could be so easy. Nowadays, all you need to do is something stupid online, preferably some clickbait type of thing, and suddenly "you made it". Sometimes I wondered if this whole project was even worth the effort. I could've been making trashy clickbait videos on YouTube to join the Internet flood, but no, instead I've been standing in front of a green screen, wearing gloves, holding a green pipe that my video effects software would later transform into the handheld Stasis Rifle. I believe everyone should be willing to take up new things and push their limits, to actually do something challenging, new, something that would bring them satisfaction once it's finally done. Because otherwise, we're gonna fall into the pit of regress in quality and doing nonsense. And let me tell you, we're already deep down in it. And I don't see it getting better if I'm to be honest. Do I earn on this project, you ask? No, I do not. I couldn't and I wouldn't, because this was not about money, and this is not my original product. It's a tribute to Subnautica and it is by any means not monetized, much like the Minenautica and Subnauticraft mods, from which I got some inspiration.

So, in the end, was it worth it? I don't know yet. I sacrificed time, I took risks, oh I spent so much time... I learned new stuff, that's right... Will it ever be an advantage for me? I don't know that either. We learn our whole life, and we take chances, even not knowing where we'll end up. And we should be proud of it. Can't always play it safe.

Finally, I'd like to give some credit. This project uses Spigot as an engine and some Spigot plugins. Those are the following: CrackShot, FastAsyncWorldEdit, GroupManager, Holograms, LibsDisguises, message-blocker, MythicMobs, ProtocolLib, SharpSK, Skellet, SkQuery, SkRayFall, Skript, skript-mirror, skUtilities. As mentioned before, all of these are downloaded from the official websites, to honor their authors.

I would also like to thank everyone, who supported me in any way, wrote comments, liked the content, watched my YouTube videos. I think some of you might have liked ALL of my wall posts, if that's not crazy, I don't know what is.

It's been almost an hour since I started writing this. I'm just gonna say that there's no tutorial for Multiplayer Support yet, but there will be. Didn't have time today. The Low-end resource pack will be available tomorrow, now it's just full res. I'm finishing this post and going to release this. And I pray that the download will work, and the project will work, and people's attention span exceeds 7 minutes so they can install it properly. Let's hope for the best.

      Thank you,

      Minecraft Project based on Subnautica:

      Hello everyone,

Right now, 4546B, the project based on Subnautica is ready to be launched. Everything has been completely wiped clean, awaiting new players. The Installation Guide is written. However, I would like to wait until the next day before I publish. Right now it would feel very rushed. I want to announce it on my YouTube, write a few nice words from the creator here, and overall launch it the right way. Post a video installation guide on my channel. Right now I'm really tired after a day full of introducing some finishing touches, eliminating more bugs, and a few hours of testing the gameplay itself. I hope you can hang on until tomorrow.
