Hello, I'm MrManiac3. I have been building for a few years. I like history, and buildings. I enjoy anime. I am learning how to play the theatre organ--an instrument invented in the early twentieth century by Robert Hope Jones to accompany silent films. Silent films needed music, so he made the instrument. It is designed to almost imitate an orchestra, as one of its designations is 'Unit Orchestra'. They were widely used in the United States during the 1920s in movie theaters. These theaters were magnificent examples of architecture, built to be as impressive and decorative as possible.
My favorite things to build
- Early twentieth century American buildings, from small to large. Circa 1880-1970
- 1920s movie palaces.
- Cathedrals and large churches.
- Contemporary Japanese buildings, from small to large. Circa 1950-2000.
- Traditional Japanese buildings.
I also build classic cars in a game called 'Homebrew Patent Unknown', which is available on Steam for 17.99 USD. I am a member of the game's Discord server, which commonly gets mistaken as a Nintendo Homebrew server.
I have been volunteering at my local civic theatre, which is one of the aforementioned 1920s movie theaters. It is being restored to its historic condition, and a theatre organ is being installed. It is a lot of fun to work on the theatre organ. It is an incredible instrument, too. I hope to spread awareness about these things.
