I havent talked about this at all publicly, really, but I do disagree with the whole new chat report thing. it's a horrible idea.
I don't really have anything more to say other than the fact that my opinion is basically on par with how 80% of minecraft players feel at the moment; it's a bad idea. it needs to go. i could make a longer post, but i'd be repeating things that have already been said.

edit: if people want more info, feel free to ask for it. although i suggest googling it lol, there's a lot more there.

note: this isn't me saying general moderation or play/user safety is a bad idea. but, we've been fine for 10 years, there is absolutely no need to implement this now.

Yesterday I was playing with a few of my friends on Hypixel and we joined a game of BedWars. One of the teams (I suspect it was a party of friends, as they repeatedly got sent into the same team together) started freaking out because one of my friends had a skin of Luz from The Owl House.
Now if you look at Luz and not know who she is, she doesn't look apparently like a stereotypical girl (short hair, no dress or skirt, she doesn't even have obvious eyelashes). The skin had clearer eyelashes because that's how that style portrays her.
And these kids went off and made a big deal in public chat about "AHHH WOMAN! GO BACK TO THE KITCHENNNNNNN AHHHH STOP WORKING" or whatever crap.
This escalated to the point of, next game, our entire team got accused of cross teaming.. for breaking one bridge between the "problem team" and an unrelated one with a fireball.
I'm almost certain that due to this interaction I'll be muted, and maybe my two other friends with me too. (We were cursing a lot and, let's be honest, we were being kind of toxic, although the OG target was much calmer about it.)
These people also targeted me for being non-binary, which honestly I should have expected. I made a [​joking] comment and they replied with "woman trying to be funny." I think you know how I replied to that. (Then they proceeded to call me maidenless repeatedly, WHICH IS FUNNY BECAUSE I LITERALLY DO NOT WANT "MAIDENS." I consider myself aroace, so uhh that was a thing.)
This shit happens a lot, I made a recent post about a transphobe in a lobby. And as a gamer, I'm ashamed of the rest of the gaming community.
LGBTQ+ people, POC, and women exist, get over it.

TL;DR sexist group of teenagers in bedwars made me write a whole essay about how crappy the gaming community can be
