Something silly for today: I wonder what Disney's Enchanted would look like if it's in live-action ...

You probably know that all my datapacks since 1.19 were made with Scripter 3.
Which was like, 2 years ago. Man I feel old.

The Prototype of Project 521 has been released on Discord!
Now I need to prepare to rework Scripter 3 to face 1.20.5's changes head on.
It's not going to be a good ride, but it'll be worth it. Talk to you soon.
PS: here's a quick video showing what 521's going to be about. Enjoy!

Also: If you haven't joined TheDiamondDiscord yet, now's a pretty good time to, as the upcoming Prototype of Project 521 will only be available for those who're in my Discord Server.
Also, if you're already in the Discord Server messing with the Prototype, feel free to drop me any suggestions you have about it there, and I'll consider them all in future updates!

Project 521 will still be available on PMC, but I'll only post it when all the features for it have properly been sorted out. Currently I'm still working on the thing - it's a pretty huge project despite its simple premise, and I can't wait to show you all here about it, but for the time being, all that chat's going in the Discord.

(You can join the Server for free by the way, here's the invite)

It's funny how 521's going to add a custom thing that requires crafting something not possible to do in the current recipes system - which resulted in me having to figure out how to design an efficient custom crafting system on top of making sure 521 still works well with it, then this week's snapshot came about.
The new changes to the recipes system meant that I'd have to consider more possible options in how I'm upgrading Scripter to 1.20.5 as everything it has to offer is clearly not being shown to us yet, but I'm sure it'll be worth it for the long run. More news soon!

I might take this chance to tell you why I don't want to make a single version that supports a wide variety of releases like I did before: The game changed how updates work that made it impossible to pull off.
Nowadays, every version has its own breaking change and in order to support that I'd have to add files specifically to counter that change when it happens, and for some cases it would easily double the filesize, making downloads effectively impossible.
(It's also pretty inefficient as there would always be files in the system the game doesn't even use that just takes up space)

Imagine if I'd made 1 version of Decapitation that supports the entire 1.20x branch.
With 1.20.2 the filesize would've been doubled because of Skin Reporting changes breaking head formats entirely (hence there needs to be a new set of heads written in the new format), and now 1.20.5 would've tripled the original filesize because of the huge change I mentioned in the last post.
And that's even before the upcoming Tropical Fish Heads update that aims to add 3072 Tropical Fish Head variants in the game! (Also: that's still in the works, I just had to do everything by myself since the original help call didn't really work how I thought it would.)

So instead I've decided to design my own version naming system, using the letter to indicate which Minecaft dot release the update is for, and put all older releases available for free on Patreon.
It's a bit more complicated to understand at first, but I always respond to help threads if you need help, and more importantly that means you guys can still download my stuff without the filesizes going overboard.

PS: If you like what I've done and you want me to do more of this stuff, support me on Patreon for more! There are also some exclusive stuff there, too!
I'm just one person doing all of this so don't expect much exclusive stuff, but I try my best!

I just read the new changes coming in 1.20.5. This is huge stuff.
Almost all of my datapacks will be broken if used in this update, and in order to fix them, I'll have to completely rewrite the majority of its code in this release, including the upcoming Project 521, which in and of itself has already taken a lot of time to pull off.

This couldn't have come in a worse time for me personally as I got a huge topic I need to tell you all about after 521's release, but I'll get into that eventually. For now, I'll need to get some version of 521 ready, then work on a plan to get all my releases to support 1.20.5.
More update details soon. See you then!

I still google stuff because it's more reliable if you want to find something really quickly.
AI can make stuff up and I don't really have the extra time to fact-check it, so yeah.

A lot of fun things in this snapshot read from what I can see.
I find it funny though that wolves, despite being smaller than players by quite a bit, now has the same health as players. It's not much of a complaint, it's just funny to know about.

I've stayed away from Facebook ever since I'd heard of it a few years ago.
Now it seems like that was a good decision - given how Facebook values teens' lifetime value at just 270$, I doubt they're doing anything much to keep their young users safe.

Yes, I have the source for this insane claim. See page 24, line 13,14 of this lawsuit paper.
PS: Somewhere in the same lawsuit paper, you'll find "Meta's scheme to exploit young users for profit". Yeah this Zuck guy isn't someone I'd trust if I need quality content.

First they removed the ability to delete names by patching MC-267259 without patching MC-128225, then they removed the ability to stop people from jumping with commands (Jump Boost 128) by limiting all amplifiers to be 127 or lower.

None of these got a proper replacement - Mojang knew that it's easy to break something people rely on to make cool stuff, yet they patched these things without caring about them like they did for booster tracks and negative durability.

MC-128225 is now Important, yes, but the latter had no obvious fixes as of right now, and changes are, Mojang doesn't even really know about it the same way they didn't notice MC-267259 (it wouldn't have been marked as Important had I not raised MC-267259 in the first place).

It's easy to break something people rely on to do cool stuff, Mojang.
At least try to consider them before patching the bugs like you used to, please?

On that note, I'm not sure the slicedlime on PMC is the actual slicedlime.
Impostors exist and we should always be skeptical of that possibility.
I just don't want to look into this properly yet - there's many things more important in my list.

Especially with the negative amplifiers, that was awesome to work with and there is no need for that to be patched. Not sure I like the guard rails Microsoft is putting up.

    Snapshot recap:
    - Wait, you can make a Vault display diamonds and it gives you dirt instead?
    - RIP Speed 255.
    - Datapacks are broken once again. Good thing I don't do stuff for snapshots!

I just realized something ... Google Search Pages is no more. It's now an endless scroll.
Add that one to the list of things killed by Google.

Big oof, Google. Page 5 isn't used often doesn't mean it's not used at all.
Things like this happening is why I'm always wary of edge cases in my builds.
And it's partially the reason why 521 takes so long currently lol

Not only that, it repeats the search results you get. It's a loop scroll. In my paid job I look up merchants and companies that my own employers can help out. How am I supposed to get more results if Google keeps giving me the same ones over and over?

521 is a lot more complicated than I'd originally imagined it to be.
This is the first one that uses a lot of custom texture elements (still no resource packs lol), and so I'm having to do a lot of texturing shenanigans in addition to making the thing possible in the first place.

Hopefully in the next few days I'll be able to finally show you what I've been cooking up.
It's a big one for me, and I've learned a lot out of the experience. I also made more tools for it that I can also use for my existing projects too, so that's a nice bonus. See you soon!

Tip if you're using my releases and 20c1 isn't working on 1.20.2:
The letter matters. a is .1, b is .2, c is .3, and so on. "-" means base, so 20-x works for 1.20.
Letter isn't moved up if the dot release didn't change existing features much.
1.20.4 still uses 20cx because of that, same for why 20-x are designed for 1.20-1.20.2.

If you need an older release of my projects, I keep every releases I've ever hosted on Patreon (it's free) since PMC doesn't have an older releases option (I won't move there if they have one now though, since the system's already been set).

I haven't updated the Older Releases table for all my releases to keep you up-to-date with this system yet - it's a recent change to adapt to Mojang's changes to how they're approaching dot updates. I'll do all that in the future once the upcoming Project 521's complete.
