The Minecraft texture looked a wee bit too much like cookie dough, lol
This texture is more suited with blending in with the natural environment an axolotl may find themselves in.
Less of one shade and a bit more natural looking.
An axolotl would need to blend in with an arrange of things, including mud, dirt, stones, sticks, leaves, etc.
A mono tone colour would get you caught, you need a bit more of a mix of tones and more natural browns that would blend better with the things in the environment.
Now wild axolotls can be very diverse with their colouration and skin patterns, so many varieties you'll be able to find.
So I made a more basic version and sort of based it off of this image.
