Pre-Evolved Aquatic Creeper
The new-age creepers are green, camouflage, and quite literally creep up on you.

However, did you know that our common toe'd silent friend evolved from the oceans?
The aquatic creeper used to be considered the top of the food chain, nothing could stop them. Using their pre-evolved feet (flippers) they had quite the speed advantage, hunting down any tropical fish in sight. The aquatic creepers resided in the warmer tropical areas, mostly around coral reefs, which were actually their homes. Taking advantage of sea kelp to create tools and structures, a thriving community grew in the reefs. A mass yearning for adventure spread amongst the coral towns, was there more out there? To see? Smell? Taste?
The aquatic creepers could see the beach through the glimmer of the ocean surface, and it called to them. As time went by, more and more of them made their way into the shallows, they found that using shells as shoes held them down in place. Their heads popped up above the surface, allowing their gills to take in the crisp salty air. Eventually, a small group braved it up and completely exited the water.

As they stepped out slowly, using their flippers as feet, the creeped further and further inland. Soon the gills they loved closed up, they were no longer able to breathe underwater. Hunting was getting tough, they could only dive for so long as even their flippers became stubby feet. The hunger grew and within themselves they grew darker, their skin losing it's bluer tone.
Morale dropped, they couldn't return home and they were starving. The mood turned hostile. At some point taller, soft-looking creatures (players) emerged it angered them. They watched the soft creatures create tools, and magnificent builds, they fished and ate like kings.
Jealousy grew until one night, the newly evolved creeper saw a chance to snatch a fish from the soft-creatures pockets. As he crept up slowly, his skin began to itch, his head was getting hot but all he could think about was the fish waiting to fill his belly. Just blocks away, he pushed through the pain but as he got closer everything went dark. All he remembered was a blip of light and pressure, and then nothing.
Jealousy grew until one night, the newly evolved creeper saw a chance to snatch a fish from the soft-creatures pockets. As he crept up slowly, his skin began to itch, his head was getting hot but all he could think about was the fish waiting to fill his belly. Just blocks away, he pushed through the pain but as he got closer everything went dark. All he remembered was a blip of light and pressure, and then nothing.

I created this for the Prehistoric Minecraft Mob Skin Contest. Mainly because I wanted to create a mini-story. Hope the wording and grammar wasn't too bad.
