In an ancient Turkish myth, it was believed that the nature had a soul, and "Su İyesi" was the soul of water. According to the myth, they did not hurt people. They would help the good, punish the bad. They could get in shape of a snake or a bird. They lived in a palace which had its entrance in a rock under the sea. They had a blue-ish color and were portrayed as a mermaid or a fish by Turks. It could also be described as a semi-god.
