UPDATE: Changed crafting recipes as to not conflict with the compass crafting recipe. Thanks to Jermiik for pointing this out!
A big shoutout to neb55555 for the great mod showcase video!
This mod adds two new types of blocks to the game, Spring Board blocks and Activated Spring Board blocks. Spring Board blocks do just as you would expect, springing any entity that moves on top of them into the air. Activated Spring Board blocks, on the other hand, only boost entities skyward when they are right-clicked. For each type of block, there are three levels; wood, stone, and iron. Wood spring boards are functional for small springs, for example jumping to the top of a tree. Stone spring boards are useful for larger springs, such as jumping to the top of a mediumly sized hill. Iron spring boards are capable of springing entities to huge heights, useful for jumping to the top of mountains or out of bedrock level mines. All types of spring boards are easily attainable through simple crafting recipes. The mod works with any version of 1.7.

Installation
First, you must install Minecraft Forge if you haven't already. To do so, navigate to files.minecraftforge.net and download the "installer" for the version of Minecraft 1.7 you will be using. Once downloaded, run the file and follow the prompts to install Minecraft Forge. Next, run the game once to finish the Forge setup. Now, download the Spring Board Mod.zip file and unzip it. Copy the SpringBoard-1.7.10-1.0.jar file to your Minecraft folder. For Windows users this is found within the AppData/Roaming directory. To navigate to this directory simply type %AppData% into the Windows Explorer navigation bar and hit enter. Then, open the .minecraft folder and then the mods folder.

Definitely a nice comeback from nearly a year hiatus.
