Realistic Appliances and Cabinets

Here is a mod that will allow you to add modern, realistic-looking appliances and cabinets to your interiors.

You can choose from white, black, or silver refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and microwaves. I've also included a white clothes washer and dryer.

For cabinets, you may select either white, black, brown, or two-tone.

These blocks are simple decorative blocks designed for people who build realistic, modern buildings in creative mode. They are "orientable blocks", so the front side will face out no matter what direction you place them in. I've attached several sample photos, but you can mix and match appliances and cabinets in virtually any combination.

NOTES:
Microwaves were "built" in enclosures, so I could keep their rectangular look without making them square.
Refrigerators are in two separate blocks. You have to place both "lower" and "upper" blocks.
The custom floors you see in the photos are not included, but may be available in a future mod, if anyone is interested.
"Countertops" are made from existing "carpet" blocks, and are not part of this mod.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minecraft 1.8
Forge 1.8
A desire to create more realistic-looking interiors!

INSTALLATION:
1. Place file in your "mods" folder, like any other Forge mod.
2. Change file extension from .zip to .jar
3. Start Minecraft with your Forge-powered profile.
4. RadPack will appear in a separate tab.
5. Place and use like any standard block.

ACKOWLEDGEMENT:
Thanks to "TheGreyGhost" for the Java assistance.

USAGE:
Just give me credit if you use this anywhere.
Don't claim it as your own.
Don't modify and then claim as your own.
Don't sell this.

Woah, this is amazing. Though, sucks it is on 1.8, but then again, sucks mods I use aren't all updated to 1.8. Anyways, keep up the good work on this!

Thanks. I am new to minecraft, so I started on 1.8. I agree though. I wish more mods were updated to 1.8. Maybe everyone is waiting for 1.9 before updating their mods.

I've already updated this mod to include over 100 custom blocks. I'm just not done with building things with the new blocks to use as examples for new screenshots.

Is there any chance you could also make a version for 1.7.10? That is the current version I use, because I use a mod called RealTrainMod, and the owner of that mod said they have no plans on updating it to 1.8+ anytime soon, so yeah. Only asking because would love to use this mod in my city project

I'm not even sure what to do in order for this to work in an earlier version. The mod is so huge now, that it might be more work than I can do at this time. I'm hoping that mods like what you have, and a few others I am interested in, will eventually be updated or made by someone else. In the meantime, let me get done with this latest upgrade, and I'll see what I can do. Thanks!

My tabs would show up on a second page of your inventory. Do you see where it says 1/2 at the top, and then you tried going to page two? Maybe send me a screenshot of what your inventory screen looks like?

Thanks. I checked it out. Most of your comments are accurate, but also part of my description above. The only comment I didn't agree with was about the texturing. You compared my appliances with things like grass. The images are based on actual appliances. Appliances don't really have much of a texture, as they are metal. I added a little gradient to simulate how light might reflect off the surfaces, but that's about all I can do. Thanks for the review though!

This mod would be great if:
1) There were x16 textures for those who like the Vanilla textures.
2) These weren't just aesthetic blocks.

Thanks for the input. These particular blocks looked really bad at low resolutions. Also, the mod requires Forge, so it's not really a vanilla no-mod type of thing.

My main goal was just to make decorative blocks for more realistic interiors, but what do you have in mind? What do you think these blocks should do?

Hey there, great mod.. love the realistic type of interior! what about the cabinets could be used for storage maybe like 8 or 10 storage spots.. the laundry stuff could world like a anvil , it repairs stuff like armour , put in the armour with a water bucket ( or add a little tank to add water ) and throw in some diamonds or iron what ever the armour is made out of :) and it will not cost xp to repair but maybe just some time ;P cuz thats what you do irl right.. wait untill its finished.. the oven and microwave could be used to cook stuff like a furnace but quicker.. idk, just some silly ideas.. also sorry for my bad english.. i'm Dutch so yeah ._. hope i made any sense :P

Thanks for the ideas. I understood everything you wrote.
Right now, I am new to all of this, and am struggling just to make these simple blocks. Adding functionality to them is beyond my capabilities. I will keep your suggestions in mind though, and maybe some day I will be able to do the things you suggest. Right now, I'm just designing simple blocks to make buildings more realistic in creative mode, but maybe I can do more in the future. Thanks again!

Looks great!  Yes, please add the floor tiles in a future update or even a separate mod.  Thanks for your contribution to the community.

Feels like I'm in IKEA.
Could you try baking some normal maps? This would look amazing with parralax occlusion and specular mapping.

It should feel like a showroom. I created a special building to mdisplay the mods I am/will be building in a store-like environment - mostly for myself.

I tried Chunky to make a better render, but it doesn't seem to be able to pull-in mods the way it can pull in  texture packs. I ended up doing the best I could do with a screenshot, and some lighting effects in Photoshop. My goal is to make useful blocks and mods for Minecraft. I'm not necessarily trying to make the best photos of my mods. If I knew how, I would. Thanks for your suggestions though.

If you are asking permission to use this to make a YouTube video, the answer is yes, as long as you credit me. Providing a link back to this page would be appreciated also. Thanks!

These are just blocks you can use to make more realistic interiors. It's not really a showcase mod. Of course, any interior you create with these blocks could be put on YouTube. Did I understand your question?
