One of the biggest difficulties for datapack creators is the lack of NBT support for custom crafting. However, there is an easy alternative! This easy utility will generate whatever commands you need for your recipes for "crafting-chest" crafting.

Pictured is "crafting-chest" crafting, where you put a crafting table in the top-right corner of an empty chest and it creates a crafting-chest that works almost identically to a normal crafting table.


Some pro's of "crafting-chest" crafting:

For players:
  Fully accessible in survival without cheats*
  Will never eat or duplicate items* (we THOROUGHLY tested it)
  Shows the result and then you can take it out or take the ingredients back out*
  You can put in multiples of the ingredients at the same time to easily make lots of the output*
  You can even pick up and move the crafting chest once created!*

For creators:
  Just download a single function to drop into your own folder and copy a few commands into your own functions.
  You don't have to make any new folders or files.
  You don't have to edit any of the downloaded or copy/pasted commands.
  No resource pack necessary.
  Supports NBT for both ingredients and results
  Supports multiples of outputs*
  You can do non-fixed recipes (if it's less than 3x3 you can put it anywhere in the grid)*

It's also fully compatible, so players can have several datapacks in a world that all use the crafting-chest system and they'll be able to do any crafting-chest recipes from any pack just by making one crafting-chest
