IMPORTANT NOTE: The Official Guide Is Here, With All Crafting Recipes (Has Been Updated)

If you are a lover of Skyrim, Lord Of The Rings, or any other similar titles, then you will also love the Midrealm mod! As of version 1.0.6 Alpha, Midrealm adds 6 new ores, 6 new ingots, 7 new materials (including testing versions of my upcoming weapon parts), 6 armour sets, and over 80 new weapons to your game! But that's not all!
Not only are these weapons new, but they are not only swords! You can choose your weapon type from a list of:
  • Daggers
  • Shortswords
  • Broadswords
  • Longswords
  • Swords
  • Greatswords
  • Axes
  • Warhammers
  • Battleaxes
  • Maces
  • Spears

But wait, there's more! Not only can you choose these weapon types, but you can also forge each weapon type in these types of metal:

  • Iron
  • Steel
  • Orachite (Orcish)
  • Dwarven
  • Elvarum (Elven)
  • Alvarite (Alvarii)
  • Drakuthil (Drakurin)

My plans for this mod are very exciting, but they will take many weeks to perfect! I will be adding the ability to create your own custom weapons, by selecting your hilt, your blade, your grip, and much more, before crafting them all into the ultimate tool of destruction! And there will also be brand new mobs, armour sets, and even a Midrealm dimension!


The next update is planned for the next few days. It will bring mobs into your game, with the first of which being elves. I will be adding mob types for each of the other weapons, (such as dwarves, orcs, etc.) so watch out for the next update!

Have you ever used the mod tinkers' construct? I am not saying you should rip off ideas from it, but with the detailed weapon crafting and personalisation stystem I hear you are planning to implement, it might be worth a look. I like that not all materials are just THE BEST and are balanced instead of having one material dominating them all, if you implement this it would make there be more of a point to personalisation and customisation because this would allow for weapons which would comprimise on durabilit, say, for a damage buff, or on attack speed for a range increase. I love this mod and the planned features open up a whole new world of possibilities, sorry if rambled a bit but I find ths mod so exciting okay I need to calm down now thanks love you bye :)

Wow! Thanks for that great suggestion! I'm definitely going to be updating this mod once Minecraft Forge is released for 1.7.4 (by the way everyone, sorry for not being able to update it for ages),and I think that some more in-depth customization would actually be a great idea! Yeah I know it sucks not being able to make new mods updated for 1.7.4 (I made a few mods myself, for personal use). That feel. Anyway keep up the good work and I love this mod, in my opinion it is the best one out there and thanks so much for this :) Your welcome for the ideas, I always have a few knocking around in my brain and I'm glad I managed to help a bit (if at all). One question, will the tools be crafted on the crafting table or on a specialised tool bench? I think it would be cool to craft the tool parts on he crafting table and then make them into the tools on the specialised bench (or vice versa - I haven't really thought in depth about this so I hope my random outburst of creative brain-juices is somewhat follow-able). Perhaps you could combine this with the specialised furnace to create a workstation in which ores would go, then be (manually) taken out and crafted into tool parts, and then put into the tool creation area? Also, will the new tools be enchantable, like normal tools, or have their own special enchantment system (you can probably tell i played a lot of T construct)? This could, however lead to the tools being overpowered, so depending on the strength of the materials that might be a bad idea - you don't want it getting too OP. Anyway thanks for reading and I hope this helps :)

Actually, it's only around 15%-20 done at the minute, but it's enabled for using on your server as long as you have forge installed on your server

I like the mod, however the usage of 32x32 textures in a 16x16 environment makes it look off and in my opinion, bad. Everything should stay uniform, in order to maintain a clean and solid mod

Thanks, and actually I agree with you. The reason that I had to use 32bit for some of the textures was because the larger weapons would not be able to have enough detail like I wanted them to in 16bit :)

If nothing else, you could make the border pixels as 16x16 and only make the inner details as 32x32 ;)

Something is rong with the mod, i put the zip file into the mods folder but nothing happens when i load up minecraft.

Hmm.... should be working fine, I tested it before release :/ Make sure that you have the latest client version of forge installed, and that you are running the forge profile :)

Weapon damage fix update is coming tonight- the code has been rewritten so that the weapons do not all have the same damage values. For example, instead of the tron dagger doing the same damage as the iron greatsword, the dagger now does 4 damage less than the greatsword! I'm also adding in spears :)

Yeah, I'm going to do them ASAP, but I'll need to take a good look at the code for the minecraft bow first, I'm pretty new to modding and this is my first mod, so It'll probably take a little while :)

Thanks, it means a lot to hear that! I'm probably going to be changing the different weapon damage values (when I figure out how) so the daggers, etc.. aren't as powerful as the greatswords/battleaxes. Hopefully this will make it better

EDIT: Also, thanks for making it a direct download. I hate having to navigate through a maze of ad.fly websites and mediafire to get to my download.

One suggestion I have - and this might be difficult to do - is to have all the new items in the vnilla creative tabs OR in a single new creative tab. I install a lot of mods and this one has 8 tabs. Apart from this it is awesome.

Ah, I see how this might be annoying- maybe instead of a single tab, I could narrow it down into 3 tabs- weapons, armour, and weapons parts. Also, I am currently working on a smelter which will be used instead of a furnace, to smelt the new ore types. I will be making more machines like this one, so I will possible need a 4th blocks tab as well, but it would certainly be better than 8 tabs :)

Sorry everyone, but I've found a HUGE problem with the mod! The world generators, apart from steel, do not work, but I've fixed them! They'll be out in an update over the next few hours :)
Could you make a sort of crafting guide? It would be pretty helpful

looks like i am gonna have to create another account so i can give you another diamond :P i also have some sugestion like a hidden blade from assasin's creed and a teleporting wand perhaps ? made out with a hyper-rare gem found in the nether or in the end , dropped by the ender dragon ??? you could also do some futuristic item , that like does 25 damage , and adds some new enchantements ... ? i would love to help ya' ! but i dont know anithing about modding :/

Thanks! It will become much better once I've done more work on it, because I've only been making it for 2 days :) (And I only started learning java last week, so I can't do really advanced stuff quite yet)
