Level 30 : Artisan Musician
Allows you to make the glass texture half-transparent ( so you can have much cooler glass! )

To Install you just drag the one classfile into your minecraft.jar.

The chance that it won't work with other mobs is ( as I think ) not that big, since only the Glass class ( < sounds funny ;P ) is edited, and not much mods do that :)

editing the normal glass texture won't work! Check out the reference at the images (2nd image)
to see what location the tinted glass is. This is so non-mod users can use normal glass in your texturepack!
Progress: 100% Complete
Game Version:Minecraft 1.3.1

Update V3 : 08/02/2012 9:42:11 pm8/02/12

- Fixed new glass using redstonelamp texture (whoops)
- New glass is now positioned next to the colored planks
- Included terrain.png with mod

Update V2 : 08/02/2012 7:43:03 pm8/02/12

The new version allows non-mod users to use your texture pack too!
In the texturepack there's a new slot for tinted glass, which only gets used if you have the mod. Otherwise the non-modded minecraft will use it's default glass texture.

Check the image in the album to find out where the new glass texture is!

For some reason it gives bug with magic launcher...
Also glass panes are not using the transparent texture (mod doesn't affect them)
And lastly the glass as a item or dropping state is full opaque, not a big problem though.
I've been waiting for a mod like this for so long, thank you for developing this :D

Bug: other glass blocks cannot be seen through translucent parts of the texture

Hey dabuwya :D found it :D hehe
thanks for mentioning this.

If other glass blocks can been seen, that because it works exactly like ice does. In fact I believe this is better and softer on rendering. Time to experiment this Mod.

I've been asking for this mod for a long long time now, but never got anyone willing to do it, even though most said it was super easy.
Also take a look on the comments above, I've found some weird things, maybe it's not that simple of a mod after all xD hehe

Usually when you make half-transparent textures, the game would turn the block textures into it's full color ( like without any transparency ) making 'tinting' glass impossible

So if I used this mod for the glass in my texture pack, people using my pack would need this mod for it to work, right?

Sadly yes

EDIT: If you want to, I can make an edit to this mod, so you can have textures for with and without the mod. Without will need to have transparent stuff in it, but with mod I can just assign a different square in the terrain.png

EDIT2: Updated it. New info above! Thanks for the suggestion :)
i dont know if you just said this or not, but couldn't you just find a transparent color or something instead of using a mod?

Just an idea, i know nothing about making textures or mods

no when you use a color, which you can see through ( transparent ) you can see "through" it in your photo editing software, but not ingame. all 1% or more opacity pixels will show up as 100% opacity ingame.
