XP-Storage Mod in Vanilla Minecraft 1.12
Don't want to loose your XP on Death? Then you can store the experience in the XP-Storage and you won't loose your XP again! Just jump on the emerald block of the Storage and it will be stored. Sneak on the block to get your XP back.

How to build the XP-Storage:

  1. Make a 3x3 platform out of Lime Concrete.
  2. Make a 3x3 platform out of Lime Glass above the Concrete.
  3. In the middle of the Lime Glass-Platform an Emerald-Block.
  4. Go onto the Emerald Block and it will be activated.

How to use it:

Jump on the Emerald-Block to store XP. Sneak on the Emerald-Block to get XP!

Breaking the Storage:
If you break the Emerald Block the Storage-Entity will be killed and the XP will be dropped. If you break anything else of the Storage (Example: the Lime Glass), the XP won't be dropped until you destroy the Emerald Block. But you can also repair it just by placing the destroyed block again (Example: the Lime Glass). Then it will work with the saved XP.

Broken Storage (XP Saved):

Installation:

  • Manual - Installation:

    1. Download the Mod Files
    2. Unzip the Mod Files (Winrar, 7zip, ...)

    5. Type in "%appdata%" and press "Enter"
    6. Go to ".minecraft/saves/YOURSAVENAME/data"
    7. Copy "XP Storage - Mod V1.0/data/*" to ".minecraft/saves/YOURSAVENAME/data/*"

Same for me,I have for a while now, the same Error than Wylan and Hazagg.

For the testing i could do is enchanting remove the level but not the xp so when you put it back you have the same number as before.

You need to updated it by killing something and collecting the orb.

Same if you give yourself 100 level with console command and try to put it in. It doesn't update the xp score itself, just the lvl score. So, you loose your lvl but no xp is added to the storage.
The command that let you add xp to yourself work fine.

Also, i saw that sometime after quitting and coming back a couple time. Sometime the xp pad fail to recognize the xp you put in.

In short, i think there some quick with how minecraft store xp and level that cause the problem. This might also be why most mod doesn't store xp but directly the LVL.

If I built one and stored my XP could another player come along and steal it? Or does it remember each player separately?
Cant get it to work for some reason :(

I love it ! It work really well too.
Is there a .jar version? Currently the mod will only work on windows computers due to the file being a .exe

It's not Vanilla Minecraft if you install a mod that is outside the scope of command blocks. Adding the mod would instantly make it not Vanilla.

"Vanilla is used to describe the original version of a game, which has not been modified with third-party addons, developer updates, downloadable content (DLC) or patches."

But the mod uses ingame commands that are in fucntion files which were added to minecraft vanilla 1.12. So it uses command blocks

Command blocks aren't the issue, it's the fact you're calling it Vanilla when it's not Vanilla. Vanilla means you don't install mods.
