The castle is complete! I've added a download link, just simply move the .zip to your %appdata%/.minecraft/saves folder and extract. When sharing this map please link back to this page and be sure to give credit to me. I will begin making the levels and updating this project along with it.

History of this build - click to reveal
3-4 years ago I started this project with a friend in a survival map with just shovels and digging a big hole in the ground. The first thing ever made on this project was the carpet for the main lobby. My intentions for this design was to make the largest scale possible and most accurate work of the interior of the castle. I ran Minecraft alongside an emulator to get the size and scale perfect (tiles of the lobby are 4x4, stairs are exactly 1 block.) All of this was before I had heard of MCEdit and by the time I used it for clearing huge chunks of land, I was the only one working on it as my friend no longer played Minecraft. After removing the rest of the attached natural land and exporting the build to a schematic, I moved the design to a blank canvas.
From the main lobby I expanded to the first 4 level's rooms and used Spritecraft to make the huge paintings. After connecting the basement hallway to the lobby and making the stairs down to the first key door, work had come to a halt.
For the next 2-2.5 years I played on a survival economy server with little to no work on the castle. I would tell some people about the castle and show them pictures and it even got to the point where the owner carved out a giant hole in the world and let me rebuild what work I had done in single player. I had left the server and so the world it was in was reset so I resumed work on the basement on my single player world. After finishing the basement I once again stopped work on the project.
At the time I had only wanted to do inside design of the castle and nothing more, but I had found a way to export models directly from an emulator and was able to build the outside of the castle. Since I've restarted work on the build I have decided I want to do the entire game. Over the past 1-2 months I have been doing the outside of the castle and beyond the 2nd key door.

4 Update Logs
Update #4 : by Videowiz92 09/27/2016 7:15:26 amSep 27th, 2016
Oh man have I been inactive on this thing. I just spent quite a few hours perfecting a controllable respawn system that is near identical to the game (die in a level, respawn outside the painting, die in the castle respawn outside on the bridge.) Sorry to have been as inactive as I have - hopefully I can get the project updated to 1.10 in time for 1.11.
