Here is my contest entry to the official Minecraft Discord server's 'Mission to Mars' build competition!
Although it may not be clear in the pictures, the approach i went here for this theme was to make it look half like an actual plan for a mission to Mars and half what i thought Mars itself might be like.
That's why there are two rockets and lines in between them to showcase the direction the rocket would need to take in order to get to Mars and to get the Rover to land safely on it's mark on the Jezero Crater.To add a bit more imagination to the project i decided to add big open cave area inside Mars that is full of life, color and light. I thought adding alien structures on the surface may have been the more common idea for this theme so i hoped this was a little bit different. I also attempted to make the Rover and Rocket look similar to the real ones :D
As for the pictures i got, i used Blender, shaders and vanilla Minecraft screenshots. Nothing extra other than a space background was added through Blender like 3D models. Everything was built in Minecraft using World Edit, Voxel and my hand. Blender was only used to get a more clear view of the entire build. In my opinion screenshots/shaders just don't give you very clear views of your builds but i think it is always fair to show them in their raw state.
Unfortunately i discovered this contest only a couple days ago and was still very busy with other projects so i was only able to really spend a day on this but i still hope people enjoy my attempt regardless. I will be providing a download for this once the competition is over :}
