Acol Island [Mega Custom Island]

Welcome to your next tropical island getaway!

This is Acol Island, a modern day custom made island that was made by myself over the course of 1 1/2 months. What exactly can you find on this island? Well there are many different things from a small town with a harbor full of many types of ships, to a regional airport that sits right on the ocean. And that's not all you can find on an island that sits within a 1000x1000 block area, don't believe me? Then download this map and see for yourself.

You will find the following on this island:

Milton - A small town that makes up the heart of Acol, the town is made up of a small downtown area near the harbor including a hotel, police station, shopping mall, townhall, hospital, and more. To the east you will find the small housing district including homes of both traditional and modern designs, and in between the two you will find the town school.

Milton Harbor - This is the main harbor on the island, in it you will find a full dock for cargo and cruise ships alike, as well as a marina that is home to yachts and sailboats. You also won't miss the two cruise ships currently docked there either.

Oil Station - This is a small one ship dock located on the west side of the island that is used for oil and gas ships only. There is a 100 block long oil ship docked here as well as a pilot boat.

Milton Airport - This is a small regional airport found on the east side of the island, primarily used for small prop planes that bring's in the island's main business. You will also find a full fire department here.

Tropical Acres - This neighborhood found on the southeast side of the island is home to big and expensive mansions and homes, and also includes a park that servers as a gathering place for the local yacht club.

Resort Hotels - There are two of these types if hotels on the island and are fairly close to each other, one is found just north of Milton and the other is just to the southeast. Both hotels have access to beaches.

Lighthouse Island - This small piece of land located in the middle of the central bay in Acol is home to a medium sized lighthouse that serves as the welcoming building for those passing by on ships.

Beaches - There are four public beaches on the island, the largest being on the north side.

How was it made?

I used WorldEdit for all of the terraforming and scenery, as for the buildings I used modern ideas from real life or custom buildings.

Is it on a server?

Yes, I made it on the Operation Infinite Ocean server which is a large ship / harbor building server. Use /warp milton to get to the island. (As of making this post the server is in version 1.4.2)
