Hi there!


We are currently working on an open world adventure map.
It's not done yet, but we have a few ideas and screenshots for you!
We are using a resourcepack called "Conquest"

The Idea:
Our idea was to create an open world adventure with quests, a main story, loot, custom mobs, different classes and accessible civilizations. We formed a 1000x1000 terrain by our own (with tools), with high hills, lakes and forest.

Classes:
We created 3 different classes. Guardian, Shaman and Rogue. Each of the classes has their own unique ability and more than 5 weapon-sets to find or loot in the hole map. As example, the rogue has a grappling hook with cooldown and the shaman can summon iron golems for a few seconds.

Civilizations:
There are 3 different main civilizations: Humans, Dwarfs and Elves. Each civilization has their own character, towns and structures.

But building the map with mostly 3 people takes time, but we are working as hard as we can to get this project ready and clean. In the following you will find a "to-do-list" what we are planning to do and what we are currently working on:

-Build a second Village ✓
-Build a destroyed Village with entrance to the Dark Forest ✓

Elves(95%) - Mainly Done:
-Build the Capital ✓
-Build University ✓
-Build residential Building of the University ✓
-Build Military Base ✓

Redstone(10%):
-Start-System ✓
-Mob-Spawning
-Quest-System ✓
-Shops

Dark Forest(40%):
-Build 2 hostile Civilizations (45%)
-Build a Mushroom Cave ✓

Other Stuff(20%):
-Build the "Dark Forest" ✓
-Main story written(40%)
-Dungeons
-Spawn-Areas
-Banditcamp(s) (80%)

Well to be honest: At the moment the project is stopped. But we don't wanna throw this map away, so maybe one day we will get back to it and revive it, I'm sorry, but the problem is, that I'm the only Redstoner in our Team and the Redstone for this map is very complex, so it would take ages for me to finish it. But the buildings of the map are nearly done, maybe about 80% are finished....

the buildings are verry nice.would be nice if you coul make a render of the whole world where you can see the landscape. [ if you need help on that feel free to contact me i have some training in making terrain renders :) ]

thank you for this great feedback; the overview of the map is made with "World Painter", it's a great Tool to create beautiful landscapes; unfortunately it can't build the map by its own :D

This looks like an outstanding map! I am truly excited for it. If you need any extra help, please don't hesitate to contact me about it! I had an idea like this map, too quite a while ago. I used World Painter, like you, and I would have continued with the map if I had help, which I could not find. I also own a Minecraft Realms server if you need a server to put the map on. Again, I would love to help you with this Adventure Map! Thanks, Matt(Me) :D

Another Open World RPG?! I quess i ain't the only one around here that makes these. It looks good and sounds good too, but i have a question: How are you going to make the Class system work in a open world?I would like to know how can you summon those Iron golems for a few secounds and the use grappling hook?

with the new functions in 1.8
as example, the golems: with /summon and to kill them use the new function /kill @e[type=iron_golem] (dont know if the type is right, but this is how it would work)
and grappling hook, just /testfor @e[type=unknown] {inGround:1b} (type=unknown, cause the fishing rods entitie has no name and then /tp @p[team=Rogue] @e[type=unknown]
and there you go, you have your abilitys :)

no, but then, i would add a few more command blocks, so that when the fishing rod is thrown, that all "fish-item-entities" will be delete instantly
