Akhetaten - Pharaoh's Capital City

*warning, may contain killer mummy, do not read from the book...

Ive always wanted to build a huge egyptian city, and here it is in its nacent form! ive incorporated elements from age of empires and the pharaoh city building game into it. (you may recognize the town center) you can expect to see many pyramids, temples and obelisks when its all said and done as well as sprawling residential districts and unique monuments. basically everything you would expect from a fantasy egyptian themed city.

there will be an incomplete download version released shortly as well as a fully complete version someday.

in the meantime, there will be regular video updates along the way on my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/trydar9k

leave a comment and let me know what you think. =)

This looks awesome. Can't await the download to explore it myself. =)

I love ancient fantasy cites (build one myself) and find although minecraft has a huge community there are still not many of them. So I'm glad here is another ancient city builder, raising its buildings to make an awesome looking city.

Love this build too. This is far beyond what I could do because I play survival mode and I get burnt out pretty fast.

I turned off survival mode on day 1 and never looked back >=D
I personally like collecting my building materials and seeing it unfold and taking all the extreme hours to build a single part of the overall project.

Fantastic build.
Its almost like Akhetaten imagined armana his actual capital if he would be able to survive all his enemies.

tanks! yeah I chose akhenaten's name for his capital as my city name because we both wanted to build an epic idealized city, im just moving the decimal point over on it tho. =D

I already have a dozen house types built, with another few dozen planned along with industrial buildings, but they aren't in the screenshots yet because I need to finish the core of the city before I can put down the surrounding residential districts =)
What percentage of completion do you think a download will be released in?

hmm, maybe around 60-70%, whenever I think im far enough along for it to be worthwhile for people to be able to play around in it =)
I see. Are you planning on adding interiors? Those doorways gotta lead somewhere :P

interiors will be in the final download for sure, but unlikely to be part of the first download. the big pyramid has an interior now tho. and I will be including lots of tombs out in the desert wastes to explore as well. =D

some of the doors will be false doors tho and go nowhere, as was the case in ancient egypt actually if you research it.
How has this build been coming along?
cool project bro but not so cool cuz its egypt and its hot so I guess its a pretty hot build :3
