PNS Acis was the lead ship in the Acis class of light cruisers, the first cruisers built for the Phoenician Navy after independence from Great Britain.
Design
The Acis class cruisers were designed as a stopgap measure before better ships could be planned. Limited resources unfortunately made this impossible, and as such the Acis class cruisers remained in service for longer than initially planned.
The class sported a powerful main armament, with eight 6in/50 Mk. XXI in twin turrets in a A,P,X,Y arrangement (that is, one forward, one amidships and two astern) that made the ships a considerable foe, especially for destroyers. The secondary battery consisted of a purely antiaircraft focus, with three 3in HA guns and five 2pdr "Pom Pom" guns. In addition to its guns, the ship sported a powerful armament of 4x2 21in torpedo tubes, which gave the ship a chance when facing off against larger threats. The Acis class cruisers were fast for their time, at 28.6 kts maximum speed.
In 1939 the ships were overhauled, with the addition of two more "Pom Poms" and the removal of two of them in favor of four 20mm Oerlikon cannons. Radar capability was added as well.
While fast and powerful ships, the interim design showed its deficiencies. The antiaircraft guns had limited firing angles due to the box superstructure (to save time and materials), the design lacked in secondary armament, and the scout plane had no hangar, meaning a seaplane carrier had to stay around to recover the plane and eventually lift it back on the cruisers.
While these deficiencies were great, the ships served well in a scout-cruiser role, oversize destroyers, due to their speed and seaworthiness.

Notes
This is the 1941 version of the ship.
Great shoutout to Helix_area51 for letting me use his amazing resource pack for my own purposes!
