The Romanian Atheneum is a building in Bucharest that houses a large opera which has stood over time to survive both World Wars, and oversaw 3 different forms of government from monarchy through communist dictatorship to democratic corruption. It's influenced by French classicism and is part of what used to be known as 'Little Paris', back when Bucharest was one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
Founded in 1888 as a result of the gathering of famous cultural and scientific personalities, the Athaeneum was constructed by French Architect Albert Galleron.
