So here's an island map I made for some project Block tried but never launched. It's set around the hunger game theme, hence why the map has so many biome areas. It's something like 6,000x6,000.
I made the map first in photoshop but designing a heightmap, which I imported to WorldPainter, tweaked some and exported. The terrain itself will be rough so you will need to smooth things out for your liking. There are no buildings, this is 100% pure terrain. Yes, that is a real desert, though I cannot take credit since I just pulled a heightmap of the Sahara from Google Earth. Also, that crater-esq area in the north is mycylium. There are three volcanos, I forget but one of them is Mt. Renier I think. I made this map back in August. Uh lets see what else. I don't think there's any ores so just load up the worldpainter file and re-exported as you see fit.

Please keep in mind the .psd is meant for learning purposes only, so please don't just copy and paste into your own map and claim it's yours. I hope you can learn something about heightmaps from this and make your own awesome terrain. Also be careful opening up the .psd it is 228MB.
Okay so apperently the world save folder was almost a gigabyte somehow so the pure download link contains the world save while the following link contains the WorldPainter file and the heightmap .psd

Oh also, I added 3 high-res versions of the photos in the worldsave zip which are really big. The main photo is like 6000 pixels wide, so, have fun with that.
Oh yeah and I made the rivers in the northern crater area into lava so good luck getting over that.
Oh and for those wondering, yes I am still working on my FFIV project.
