Allow me to present to you: Castillo del Sol!


The history behind this build begins all the way back in 2017, I think, back when the newest Minecraft version was still 1.12.

I started working on a colonial spanish themed island, with a goal of creating a sea out of glass. The goal of this build was simply to try some new things and to improve my building skill through practice. As it happens to many projects, I ran out of motivation and simply abandoned the build, coming back to it every once in a while perhaps up to three times a year, to build a house here and there. Little by little, however, it did get a shape. Today, I have finally reached a point when I feel comfortable calling it finished, despite the many improvements that can be made.


Project info:
  • This is a castle standing atop of rocky cliffs with a little town surrounded by a sea.
  • The size of the whole map is 320 x 320 blocks
  • Built on Aliquam
  • I used FAVS, FAWE and Arceon to create the terrain, with a lot of manual touches
