High-res, toned and outdated picture of the main building which PMC doesn't let me upload for some reason): http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8449/7997698135_593bce14bd_o.jpg
I've been building this castle with a large emphasis on medieval-renaissance realism and architectural detail, especially on the outside. Once finished I'll put it up for download as well as doing a guided video tour of it as the first part in a series on medieval building in Minecraft, and later it'll be part of an open-world adventure map.
Note that the castle name isn't based on the Saxon municipality of Plaunitz.
Current situation:
I gave up on this project months ago, for numerous reasons. However today I happened upon a fairly recent comment asking when it would be downloadable, and decided I'd dig it up and at least put up for download in it's current, unfinished state much like my newer citadel project which is probably also going to remain unfinished. This castle, however, was a fair lot better than I remembered and so I'm going to try and continue building it, at least for a while.
The version I managed to find wasn't quite the most recent one, don't know what happened to that, but I made a few rudimentary and essential fixes before uploading this so it should at least bear looking at, I'll start properly working on it again tomorrow or on the weekend. This means the to do-list is currently ahead of it's date, but I'm too tired to edit that now and just want to get this up straight away.
Should you spawn in a false location, the build is around x 1500 z 50... or the other way around. I'll need to check that as well in the next couple days. The texture pack is still John Smith.
To do:
Exterior:
Main building
Bridge
Outer walls
Gates
Courtyard
Stables
Barracks
Warehouse
Forge
Workshop
Keep
Armory
Barber's shop
Training grounds
Interior:
Entrance hall
Highborn feast hall
Great hall
Chapel
Throne room
Lord's quarters
Kitchens
Undercroft
Armory
Dungeons
Library
Alchemist's quarters
Conservatory
Auxiliary rooms
Filler (I don't know what this is going to be but it looks like I'll need loads of it)
Side note:
If anyone by some ridiculous chance happens to remember my previous project, the server shut down and I got a bit pissed over that so I just stopped everything Minecraft-related for a few weeks, and then forgot to mention it here. So anyway, that project is never going to be finished, but this one hopefully will.
