This is a (fictional) Formula 1 Style Boat-Racing-Circuit with Timing for hotlapping (using commandblocks) and even a custom resourcepack that replaces some lesser needed textures to racing related stuff for more immersion.
That includes tarmac, white lines, tyrewalls, barriers, boats to resemble Formula 1 teams, and some paintings to be spoofs of sponsors.
The track is devided into 3 parts with sector times.
There are curbs in shape of golden pressure plates that cancel your laptime if you cut the course too much. The red and white curbs however are save to touch.

My personal lap record is a 1:11.5 as can be seen in the video (Sectortimes: S1: 22.5 (22.5), S2: 49.6 (27.1), S3: 1.11.5 (21.9))
However on my best run I was up by over a second after S2 (then I bottled it), suggesting a time below 1:10 might be possible.
Start-/Finishline is at ca. 100, 68, -220. The timing starts and stops when you cross it.
Note: Due to the redstone and commandblock configuration there is always a cooldownlap between timed laps.
Planned changes/improvements:

I am not a good teacher but I am using GIMP for texture work. If you want to get into it I suggest looking up tutorials on that. It is not that difficult, really.
Question tho: do i have to download any sorts of mods or anything for the sponsors?
Anyway i love it!
The sponsors are included in the resourcepack as part of the paintings and should be visible in vanilla minecraft :)
I could share some track ideas I've made.
