The new age of Minecraft ship building is now here! With deeper oceans that came with 1.8 and with the latest patch increasing the height from 128 to 256 ship building is now unhindered and more detailed and extravagant ships are able to be made without changing the sea level. This is the first ship I've built that didn't have some sort of building restriction, so it features more detail and realistic feel while blending in a fantasy aspect. For instance the ship hull hangs much lower in the water to reflect real life ships and the masts are now taller than previously available.

The ship interior is largely empty, not sure if I'll get around to furnishing it.

Clare of the Faint Smile was once an Adacian warship but has since been retired for more technological advanced ships featuring steam powered cannons. This ship is now used as a transport vessel to the resort of Coghaven, the resort can be seen at the link below.

I know. I called it Clare because I already have another boat with Teresa in the name and didn't want to make them sound as though they have some sort of relation to each other.

My only argument on your point is no wooden warship could take advantage of a 128m mast ;) - Only steel ships are practical for that size!

Then again, its minecraft..

My only argument is that the mast isn't 128 meters tall; the default sea level was 64 so that left 64 meters for building the ship and masts on top of that. I lowered the sea level so I could have more room for flags and the like. The mast is about 60 meters tall, which is fairly proportional given the length of the ship.

Then again, it's a fantasy ship...

Yes, thus why I said, then again, its minecraft. Your proportions are excellent and the hull shape is perfect, don't get me wrong!

Fantastic. I love how you implemented a more stout and compact shape to such a big ship.

I was thinking about making a blog or video about ship building since I've gotten several people asking for it. In the mean time I'm building another ship on The Voxel Box in the guest area using the same technique that I used with this ship. I'll have to show you it when I log on later today.
