I used WorldMachine and WorldPainter to make this map

I use the Conquest Texture Pack + Optifine in minecraft 1.7.10 for a lot of unique textures. Get them all in one here:

If you like my maps, I own a server where you can play with others on them! It has it's own story 3 years in the making!

Hey! This Map was originally planned to be a snowy, Nordic, Viking-like map but after looking at is a while, I realized that the mountains weren't quite steep enough, BUT, I didn't want to give up on it because it was a beautiful looking set of hills and mountains. So I decided to turn it into a desert map. Doing that, I was unsatisfied with how bare and sandy it looked - it wasn't atmospheric enough - it needed shrubbery and lots of it. That was added and my final realization was made - this looks just like the savannas of Africa! So there you go. It's not exactly "flat" in a lot of places, but that's what gives it it's fantasy finesse.
I also pasted one of my favorite Ship-Builder's ships in, MrBeasty127.
You can view his profile by clicking on his name. I love his Medieval Ships - Everyone likes to build Napoleonic ships but he takes a different, earlier styled approach, which I quite fancy.
So I threw one of his ships in as if it was the early Spanish Empire exploring the African Coast. Perhaps they will be discovered by locals.. and get rained upon by arrows - Hence the name "Confrontation"
Feel free to use this map for anything as long as you give me credit! Link in the comments if it's anything public cause I wanna see!
Here are some shots:

Spanish Vessel Nosing it's way into the bay

Coastline with Awesome Hill

Some parts are quite steep, watch your step.

The African Sun - Surprisingly Warm

Just look at that ridge erosion

The Coast is rather rocky, steep and barren, but it gets more green & lush farther up where it flattens out

Yeah, see? What did I tell you?

Nice place to hunt a lion

Realistic level of Savannah vegetation. You've got your pricklies, flowers, grass, bushes, etc.

Also a nice place to hunt a lion

Trunk

This was a cool shot

More Coast

More Coast

Coast

Toast

Coast

Ah, wow.

Looking out to sea

Hillside

The African Sunrise - it only happens once a day.

So yeah.

Acacia Trees

The Ominous Spanish Empire sails in - what do they want? Who is confronted by who?
