Welcome aboard the beautiful Costa Pacifica!
This model was created in the scale of 1.5:1, meaning it is 50% larger in this version than it would be for a normal 1:1 scale replica.
The ship overall took about a month's construction of off and on work, with a vacation in the middle.
The Costa Pacifica is the third ship in the Concordia Class of ship from Costa Crociere.
The ship is identical to her sisters, the Costa Concordia and Costa Serena. The other ships have slight alterations made during the evolution of the class. Her keel was laid on July 24, 2007 and was originally started as a bow peace. Later in August of 2007, her bow was shipped from Fincantieri Palermo shipyard to Fincantieri Sestri Ponete shipyards, located in Genova, Italy. By June 30, 2008 she was launched into her wet docking and fitting out phase of construction. On June 5, 2009, she was launched with her cousin ship, the Costa Luminosa.
The ship is 435 meters long and 54 meters wide at the waterline. She boasts 14 passenger decks and 16 total decks. She features five restaurants, 13 bars, 4 swimming pools, and one of the largest spa on a cruise ship. She is the first ship to have an onboard recording studio!
