Lindblum is a highly developed and overbuilt city from Final Fantasy 9 built with a hybrid of fantasy architecture and steampunk aesthetics. It is situated atop a mountain peak, and is fortified on all sides by its grand walls and towers. The city is primarily designed to be accessed via airship. It is divided into four 'districts' - the Industrial District, the Business District, the Theater District, and the Grand Castle.
THE THEATER DISTRICT
High along the inside walls and overlooking the Main Gate, the Theater District is home and venue to many famous plays. Artist workshops share space with stages and theaters, and many of the city's most creative residents live nestled in between.
THE BUSINESS DISTRICT
The business district runs along the roads in the central part of Lindblum between the main gate and the Grand Castle. It is the 'lower' area of Lindblum, and rife with shops, smiths, and other vendors stores. Along with the shops, it also serves as a place of residence for many of the common folk of Lindblum, and a handful of Inns and Taverns dot the streets.
THE INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT
Arguably the heart of Lindblum's technology, the Industrial District is where the engineers of the city work and live. It is also the primary location for airships to dock, repair, and refuel. There are pubs and other recreational areas scattered in this district to allow Lindblum's most active workers to decompress. It's principal feature is a towering airship dock, whose size rivals that of the Grand Castle.
THE GRAND CASTLE
Regarded as the forth district based on size alone, the Grand Castle is housed within the largest columnar tower in Lindblum, located opposite the main gate. It is home to the regency of Lindblum, and has a large airship dock within.
THE MAIN GATE
Many of the details on the main gate aren't consistent, both from the concept art to the game and even in single prerendered movies. However, we're doing the best we can to interpret the general layout of things while remaining faithful to the overall aesthetic of the gate.
