OH NO!
You've somehow spawned inside a massive desert valley! With stone monoliths all around you!
Your only hope for survival is a small oasis that has spawned right next to you by chance!
That just happens to have everything you need to get started!

HOW IT WAS MADE
Desert valley was made with a very useful world editing program called World Painter, which you may have heard about already. Desert valley was made by first creating a black and white noise-map in my image editor (Gimp 2.8), and then importing it into World Painter as a height map.
From there I then sculpted the map by painting on dirt and gravel and stuff like that, adding ores, variating the elevation of the ground and smoothing the terrain slightly, and other stuff, you get it.

Update #3 : by PlanetMars2 05/10/2015 1:51:36 pmMay 10th, 2015
Version 1.3 NEW 1.8 VERSION - Don't worry, the older versions are still available!
Added a few new starting items. Added some more foliage to the oasis (including the stuff newly added in 1.8). Re-did the map slightly with some new 1.8 blocks that will now randomly generate across the map, such as diorite, granite, andesite (I promise those rock types are there, I scanned the map from MCEDIT to make sure), red sand (on the surface), and some other stuff. There are also now caves, which at the moment are probably not gonna be too amazing to explore.
