Hello and thanks for checking out my map! this is the second "demo" release of a huge ski resort project I'm working on, called Diamond Peaks. It has nine usable ski lifts and almost 40 downhill runs, along with a base village featuring a couple hotel buildings. I've tried my best to make evrything detailed and realistic, and some of it is based off of real buildings. Also, I hate to ask, but I did put a lot of effort into this so if you could give this map a diamond or even a favorite it would really mean a lot to me! Also, I'm happy to answer questions in the comments and suggestions/feedback would be greatly appreciated! Let me know if you want a third demo release (3 new lifts+minor changes in village) or not as well.

How To Use Lifts:
the resort has nine ski lifts, all of which are usable in some way. there are four teleporter based lifts (Summit Tram, Challenger, Alpine, Highlands), all of which will have a button at the bottom that you push to teleport to the top of the lift. these are easy to identify as they have actual chairs hanging from the lift lines.
There are two forms of ridable lifts as well. the first type, "basic ridable", uses a minecart moving over rails placed on barrier blocks. there are three of these (Easy Rider, Interconnect, North Face), and they can be spotted with floating rails directly beneath the lift line. these sould have either a minecart sitting at the bottom or a button that will summon one. either way, once there is a minecart, sit in it and hold W for a few seconds and you'll start moving. There are also "advanced ridable" lifts, which are the msot realistic, but don't work on long lifts, as the chair cannot pass out of render distance. there are two of these style lifts (Exposer, Easy Access), and can have empty lift lines except a single minecart orbiting around the line. to use, just wait at the bottom, wait for the chair to come around, and right-click it when it does. on both types of ridable lifts, press shift to get off at the top, or you will just keep riding in circles.

Base Village:
the base village is a work in progress like the rest of the project, but still has a lot to see. there are two large buildings, the larger of the two being the Grand Lodge, the main building. this has almost 100 hotel rooms inside and a detailed interior. The smaller of the two buildings is another hotel, which doesn't yet have an interior, but will get one in the next release. there are also two cabins at the edge (VERY heavily inspired by the Youtuber Pixlriffs, link below) that are a lot more spacious as a place to stay. The Tram lift starts down here in a smaller building, which also houses a small cafe and the control room. the village is easily accessible at the base of most lower lifts and can be easily crossed using the Interconnect lift.

Control Room:
the control room, located beneath the tram, is where you can make changes, like turning off the weather cycle/changing the time. I recommend keeping weather off, as the builds aren't snow-proof, and keeping the difficulty at peaceful since it's definitely not spawn proof or creeper proof. as for difficulty you can play however you want, but it can be fun to check out in survival. The control room also houses the lift reset button, which will destroy ALL minecarts/"chairs" on the map. this is currently the only way to fix the Advanced Ridable lifts if an extra chair is summoned. each ridable lifts has a button at the bottom to summon a new chair, but this is only to be used if there is NO chair there already, especially on AR lifts. I know this isn't ideal but I know nothing about commands so it is the best I can do right now (again, suggestions welcome).

Programs/mods:
  • worldpainter-used to make the mountains
  • Chunky-used for renders
  • Optifine-mod to make building easier. I recommend using it but it isn't required
Other Creditsagain, thanks for checking this out, it really means a lot! let me know if you have suggestions, questions, or feedback!
