This 1.9 command adds divining rods from the Equivalent Exchange mod in vanilla minecraft. It is a one-command creation meaning that you only have to copy-paste the command to be able to use it!
Crfting recipes: Drop on ground 8 diamonds and 1 charcoal to craft 40 high covalence dusts
Drop 8 high covalence dusts and 1 stick to craft a divining rod. It will break after 300 uses.
Right-Click the divining rod to detect for diamonds or emeralds in a 3x3x9 area in front of you.

You do a /fill execute the player which only replaces the diamond ores. now you safe the Value of the refilled diamond ores with /stats AffectedBlocks. if the score is higher than 1 you get displayed the "found diamonds"
message!
e.g.:
/execute @p ~ ~ ~ /fill ~ ~ ~ minecraft:stone [score goes up by 1]
/execute @p ~ ~ ~ /fill ~ ~ ~ minecraft:log [score doesn`t go up]
