Elisabethkirche (Saint Elisabeth Church) Was a church located on the Friedrichsplatz in Kassel, Germany.
From 1770-1777 It was built as a representative building like the other buildings on the Friedrichplatz, and was concepted as Church. But it was made not to look like one from outside as it was built as a secret Catholic church during times as Protestantism was still the main religion, and others were forbidden.
1809 the Tower was added on the building, and it was officially recognizable as a Church building.
During the deliberate destruction of the historic city Center of Kassel, it was Destroyed, and not rebuilt.
Another church called Elisabeth Kirche stands now on the other end of the square, but has nothing in common with its predecessor.
