Quick build for the DD contest. It didn't turn out completely the way I wanted, but being another side project I'm not going to obsess over it. Enjoy!
Story
"If the Minecraft world was technically infinite, wouldn't I find your world somewhere within mine, and mine within yours?" Seeubg ut as merely one of many spurious philosophical speculations making the rounds in Minecraftia, Steve had never considered the full implications of this debated theory - yet now they were unraveled right in front of his eyes.
The scenery was a considerable change from the endless, dead valleys and dunes Steve had been wandering through, but no less desolate at that. Ruins of a civilization past, slowly succumbing to the endless onslaught of heat and draught, yet still full of life; but Steve knew by heart this wasn't the kind of life he would find salvation in. Ragged, armoured cars zooming by on the cracked highway, their engines nigh drowning out the screams and shouts of their passengers, a more distant, regular sound of industrial pumps working tirelessly, the waft of blood, oil and sweat... he'd seen all this before, years ago in a dingy midnight viewing of the local cinema.
He knew there was no aid, no safety, no reward to be found in this world; only suffering and death. Alas, it was where the desert had led him, and return was no option; with the crushing impact of a falling anvil, Steve realized and accepted what fate had made of him.
He was dead meat walking.
About the build
This is a fictional scene set in the Mad Max universe. Rather than a complete or single entity, it's a peek into a whole new world Steve has stumbled upon in his wanders; consequently, most of the components are references to the Mad Max game, but nothing is directly copied from it. Also due to this form of project structure, most of the build's value comes from ground-level details such as the armor stand characters, cars and internal facilities of the raider camp. It may not look like much on first glance, but I'd say these details warrant a closer look.
Thanks for reading!
