About the project epic-map more than 2 years’ work.


Yes, it is a lot, totally we build on it for 3 years, it was the first server I played on, the server from my friend, he had an idea to make a public server, the most epic server… never came through tho…  but the idea was nice and he asked me to build the main spawn… well it began a little bit different. We began a server together. A simple private server just to survive… after days spent in the mines we started to make a house. Because we played on hard mode what isn’t actually that hard… we wanted to build a underground tree farm. What a job and after 2 days digging I said lets cheat, give me game mode 1 and we do it the fast way. Well that was the start of the server, once in game mode1 you stay in game mode 1 and soon there was a town. A friend of mine joined and said ‘’this is amazing, you really need to make this server public’’ so my other friend brainstormed for a good server and I began to make the spawn town. The town was called Zion and pretty quick the first story’s about the town were made. The server admin didn’t took the server serious so the idea of a big and great server was lost in our eyes, only the admin believed  in it. But didn’t do anything like is has to fall out of the sky… well we continued building the town and it was a great town, it was getting bigger day after day.. soon I discovered world edit and voxel sniper and I began to edit the map, it was amazing, just to see the map growing and the builders who helped enjoying the process of building it. What was our goal? We didn’t know, we build it because we liked it, to have a nice time and to express our emotions. People from all around the world joined the process and loved the story behind it, loved to help but I was taking over the city… the map, actually the whole server.. I saw It as something like it was mine and mine alone, sounds a little bit like my precious from the lord of the rings. So builders left because I wanted to have everything in control. How the map stayed growing I wanted more and more. That was the final blow. I had the server, builders, loyal builders and a beautiful map. But my ideas began to destroy the map, as it did. I tried to repair it but the builders left, only my friends I know in person stayed and helped to fix it, when one problem was fixed I created 100 more, because I wanted so much I did not give that many attention to the server. the backup system didn’t work like a lot more, the map broke, it was gone…..  the map was destroyed and the last backup was to old. I might look like a nerd who plays minecraft 24/7 but there were lots of time I didn’t play minecraft at all, and I am someone who has a dream, I am studying for captain,…. Maritime officer. I’m going to see the world like I always wanted. So no I may be looking like a nerd trough this story but I am not, as well as my friends, except the other admin, the one with who I started the hole project. But now we have a new project… new server, growing and an even more beautiful map. But the history of the old server, the great city we called Zion, it will be always remembered, our inspiration and the story we told in it may never be forgotten, so we still have a download. I hope it still works, things are pretty much mess-up but the city is still there. So go download it… take a walk through the city and try to think of the story we have put in it.
