Greetings friends, here's my first attempt at a survival map.
The Idea: More places for monsters to spawn but with more resources = faster pace.
I attempted a new map style with tons of caves. With so much darkness nearby, monsters are sure to appear frequently. To balance this, I've increased the ore percentages slightly and increased the minimum levels for ores so that you can find them easier. Travel will be more difficult will all the holes and will make a kind of parkor (with monsters chasing you ^_^ ).
The Terrain: Something like Karst topography where the underlying earth has been eaten away.
The map itself is approximately 4k x 4k. One main river flows through the area with smaller rivers and streams feeding into it. The main mountain is nearby the spawn point for quick access to building a mountain defense (for those who like that). Here's a map of the layout:
Tools Used:
* Worldpainter (for the terrain)
* Chunky (for the renders)
* Picasa 3 (for editing)
Hints: Watch where you step!
With all the holes everywhere, death is just one step away. If the fall doesn't kill you, the monsters will.
Try a higher difficulty!
Diamonds are in high quantity, so why not try a harder difficulty? You can also just play faster through the game if you don't wan't a higher difficulty.
The last screenshots are from in game to give a feel of the terrain from the ground.

Also what's the story behind the name? Your other maps had names that related to the terrain somewhat but this one sounds different.
I changed it from the Latin "etiam alter locus" (a second chance). I was thinking of making a post apocalyptic landscape with holes everywhere, but I didn't really go into any storyline. Hence, the second chance to do things right.
