I recently started a new survival world just to test out 1.6.1 and how Survival would work with it. By pure accident, I got an awesome seed. The seed is basically a survival island deluxe; a main jungle island has several smaller islands that surround it. I built my own house on one of these surrounding islands, though because I've exhausted all my island's natural resources, I have been venturing onto the jungle island for mining and food collection.
A fair warning: meat is scarce! I've been at this map for several days, and I've only collected two pork and one chicken. The rest of your food will have to come from farming.
There's sugar cane and cocoa, as well. The only thing this map is missing are birch and spruce trees, but that naturally happens in the absence of a forest or taiga.
