Why?
I am a very big fan of the Fallout games from Fallout 1 to Fallout New Vegas. Many have had concerns with Fallout 4 and 76 and I agree, I think the franchise has lost touch of what Fallout actually is when it comes to certain aspects, while Fallout 4 has improved a few aspects as well. I and many others have been waiting for a Fallout game that truly embodies Fallout...that is exactly what this map intends to attempt. If anything, this will be a fun and long map to explore and journey through for anyone; Fallout fan or not. This game is inspired by all the Fallout games, some more than others.

This map attempts to make a legitimate, well-designed, never seen before, spin off minecraft fallout map set in Atlanta, GA. The cool part is that all you will need is the map file and the resource pack.

What Fallout: Ordinance is
It is a singleplayer map. The idea of Fallout: Ordinance is a Fallout game in Minecraft, fit with as many mechanics from the games as possible and a new, unique story line. The main goal is for it to look and feel like Fallout, but with RPG mechanics (Choice and consequence). It is set in Northern GA, USA region. There will be many factions and very interesting settlements around the map.The map is roughly the size of Fallout New Vegas, but its hard to tell in minecraft terms exactly how big it is compared with other fallouts. Not only settlements will clutter the map, but many side locations as well with enter-able areas. Each major settlement will have its own important characters and side quests. Of course there is a main story, but it's still in the writing process. There will also be in game music/sounds, which is included within my own resource pack made specifically for this map. We have a very dynamic dialogue system that can detect if you have spoken to certain people, what you are wearing, skill levels, etc. etc. Spoken dialogue for important characters is a possibility being looked at for the future as well. As of now, the only thing you would need for this map is the Fallout: Atlanta resource pack and the world (which included datapacks in the world file) for accessibility. We are constantly thinking about how to optimize the map. This map should be very enjoyable and close to Fallout in the vanilla game. As of now we are planning to move to 1.16 eventually and that may be the permanent snapshot for this map as we will go into full development.

.Dialogue trees
.Guns and custom melee weapons (All done with vanilla minecraft)(We already have them working and they are amazing, better than most gun mods that I have seen tbh)
.Radiation
.Custom mobs and enemies from Fallout like protections, radiscorpions, and eyebots
.Reputation(We don't know to what degree yet)
.Quests and side quests
.Probably a ton of features I am forgetting lol

Inspirations:
.Atlanta Civil War history
.Atlanta in the 40s-50s
.Atlanta Civil Rights and black history
.Blues and Jazz period
.All of the Fallouts including 1 and 2
.Retro futurism, Art Deco, Brutalism

Environment, locations, and lore (Don't want to give too much away too soon)

The Chinese targeted the Marietta Air Force Base, above Atlanta, destroying the entire base and town region. To the south, Atlanta still stands, but barely. Many roads are destroyed or covered in rubble making it impossible to traverse without using the subway tunnels and sewers. Ever since the Civil War, Atlanta has been a massive railway network. In the 2040s the US government sought to expand the regions output and poured millions into deepening and widening the Chattanooga River that connected Atlanta, Marietta, and the Atlantic Ocean. Why? Marietta was one of the largest nuclear manufacturing facilities in the US and the Scare from emerging war with China resulted in it being more active than ever. Beyond Atlanta, large suspended highways stretch across the dead region. To the east is Stone Mountain; The explosion had no effect on the indestructible boulder. To the south is the Atlanta International Airport battered with ballistic missiles. To the north is Sandy Springs, yet it is cut in half by a massive wall of rock. When the bomb landed upon the Brevard Fault Line below Marietta, with other bombs in the Eastern United States aiding its strength, it created an earthquake with the magnitude of 9.5. From that extreme earthquake, the likes of which were unseen formerly, massive cracks have destroyed the surrounding Atlanta region and altered its topography making the region hillier than it was before. To the southeast is Junction, built upon a suspended highway intersection. To the south is a very forested area similar to Fallout 2. In the man-made Atlanta harbor sits the dormant battleship: the Destroyer. Atlanta itself has a few settlements in its ruins. To the north is Cumberland, the most advanced settlement in the area.

There are two major factions who you can choose to side with or not, but I don't want to reveal anything other than their names; The Brotherhood of Steel Outcasts and The Last Federation of Credence, or commonly referred to as the Federation.

Lore friendly and professional
This game also attempts to be as lore friendly as possible. I have to envision an Atlanta that has developed from the time split of 1950 with a different type of technology and feel than our own timeline. Buildings from the 50s and on will not exist in the Fallout universe, but I intend to take inspiration from modern day and look at the inevitable outcomes of the region. Basically I can assure that a lot of time and thought will be put into this map. Small details like how each settlement gets its food and water will be attended to and cool details and random encounters will make for unique play-throughs.

Gallery and progress
I plan to update this post as much as possible. Just check the updates post every now and again. I will add new images all the time and I will make blog posts for more important updates and announcements. I will release some trailers and gameplay over time. There will be a possible beta in the near future.

When will this come out???
Currently we are not set on an exact release date and we work in our free time. If you want the map to come out faster, support and hype motivates us to work harder. Please share this around.

Happy (very late) New Years! This is sort of an update on an upcoming update, but I just want to make sure people know this project is still going. We are in the midst of updating and improving block textures, which includes making ALL of the block textures 32x32 pixels instead of the previous 16x16. We're also improving the gun models [​which you can see the new assault rifle on the main project post]. From what I have done so far, it looks WAY better. For the next update, I want to finish most of the textures and fully create and detail a section of the city to show off. I want it to illustrate how detailed our map will be and finally get a big update out rather than these minor ones.

We are planning to do a lot more building and we will be going to 1.17, as it contains a lot of cool features we want to play around with for this map. I really hope this project will pick up increasing velocity, the more stuff we do, because the dream I have for this map is so exciting--I want it to become reality. That said, this is volunteer work, and we constantly go through creative droughts as well as life getting in the way...We will try out best nonetheless!

I love whats been showcased so far. I do however have a few Questions:

Will you be releasing a 1.16 version before the jump to 1.17? If so would you theoretically be able to use the (Fallout inspired Power armor) mod and the (Fallout Wastelands) mods without issues or balancing concerns?

Is the Texture Pack a continuation of the Old Mineout Texture Pack or an in house thing?

Are you planning Random Mobs skin combability allowing for greater variations?

Will there be any mention of the Enclave or its remnants?

Will any custom Raider Tribes be showcased?

And since you shared your favorite Fallouts I'll extend the same curtesy:
I love the lore but have trouble with the Controls of Fallout 1 and 2.
I flat out loved Fallout new Vegas and Fallout 3.
Despite the issues i have with Fallout 4 I love the (Majority of the) story especially the Far Harbor and Automatron dlcs respectively. (I have restarted my fallout 4 like 5-8 times just to play far harbor over again)
I personally love the Ideas of Fallout Tactics but unfortunately it was DEFINATELY ahead of its time and suffered a lot as a result. (I will admit I'm a sucker for the talking Deathclaws . . . )

Here's hoping the Map and Resource Pack respectively end up being a glorious love letter to Fallout.

P.S. A fun little Nod would be an Easter Egg to the Yogscasts playthrough of SaveTheGnomes13's Old Map . . .

We do not plan to release this on 1.16, we plan to release it on whatever current update it is in when it is finished, and we don't know when we'll stop updating...a beta might be on 1.17 though.

The texture pack is very slightly inspired by the Minecraft Bedrock Fallout texture pack, but other than that, it is completely original and textures are made by me or Echonix. As far as I know, the Mineout texture pack has never been an inspiration.

We will probably have randomized mobs/mob textures throughout the world, but I don't have the specifics because we are early in development. Spawns in this map will be based on code in datapacks and will work a lot like how Fallout spawns work., it will all be automated, gamerule mob spawning is false.

The Enclave originally was a sub faction, but since we are a very small team, we'd rather focus our energy and time on the fleshing out the two big factions, one of which is an original creation. Maybe the Enclave will show up in the final version, but I am not sure. They will definitely be mentioned and or one remnant will show up.

We actually just came up with a distinct raider sub faction, that wear animal heads and fur. They worship animals around the wasteland. But that's just in the conceptual stage.

When we say we are taking inspiration from Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics, we mean the lore, narrative, and aesthetic, not the gameplay. The gameplay will be heavily inspired from Fallout 3, New Vegas, and 4. Also, lucky for you, Far Harbor is one of our biggest inspirations, especially for the aesthetic.

Right now we have about 20 different guns that work and the models are being updated(so are all the textures actually). But for melee weapons, they are pretty much unlimited but we have over 20 of those right now...But we can easily add more weapons in the future. Might experiment with attachments and such later in development.

No unfortunately, but there are 17 different guns and there are currently 23 different melee weapons, but we can add more weapons in the future. We have a lot of other features to focus on so we can't do customization.

Looks like an awesome map in the making!! Although it looks like it'll take a very long time until were able to play the finished version because of how much cool stuff you want cram into the map.

Thanks. Yeah I understand. I'm trying to move as fast as possible. I don't have an exact release so I can't say much now. All I can say is that what I have in mind for the finished project should be awesome and should provide alot of content. I want to make this the best it can be so a long time only means a better product to me, but I'll keep posting updates on the game and stuff so stay tuned.

For now it will be in vanilla with a resource pack and maybe some plugins...which if you really look into resource packs they can almost turn into mods so. But yeah. When the game is close to complete we might think about a modded version so we can have a lot more guns and stuff.
