GOALS:
This Minecraft adventure map will not require mods & will be an honest interpretation of the Fallout lore in a new setting, utilizing custom resource packs, datapacks, and an open world to bring the story to life.

Fallout: Ordinance is something we take very seriously, but we'd rather the map show for itself through our progress rather than through empty words. Developing a project like this is extremely difficult, because we have such a high bar--we ask that people be patient, and don't have huge expectations for us. We work on this map for free, in our own free time, between school work and our jobs...We have a great vision of something beautiful, but it just takes time.


LORE OVERVIEW:
In the year 2077, the world ended and the city of Atlanta, like the rest of the USA, was scorched by nuclear fire. The population of this once great city either became ashen dust, escaped into vaults, or were ghoulified, forced to live in a now unrecognizable wasteland.

About close to two centuries later you are born, then enslaved by a faction known as Kepler Indentured Company, who are now on the brink of a major discovery: a vault, deep underground. This may give you the opportunity of escape you've been waiting for. And if you do escape this nightmare, you can become who you were meant to be out in the wasteland.

TWO PRIMARY FACTIONS:
THE BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL OUTCASTS
The Outcasts believe they have a superior, special responsibility over the general population to protect humanity from that which destroyed it: dangerous technology. They are isolated individualists who believe in the good will, but their odd circumstances in Terminus will have a profound effect on their ideology.

THE LAST FEDERATION OF CREDENCE
The Federation believes they have a moral responsibility to rebuild society through their technological resources and scientific experience. They are Utilitarian and believe a government structure and rule is the best for the wasteland. They want to incorporate more towns into the federation with a strong central government body to guide the great society to health. Furthermore, they believe in the general happiness--individual autonomy can be sacrificed for that general happiness. This means that the rights of their citizens are not paramount and generally creates an authoritarian environment.


PROGRESS & RELEASE:
We, I(Jmanch3w) and Echonix, are currently still in pre-production, which we have been trying to get out of for a while. We have tried introducing new team members but we have discovered that it's not helping us in this phase due to our strong consensus on direction. When we get out of pre-production we hope the map will speed up when we gain new team members and our direction and mechanics are solidified. We currently do not have a release window for this map. We work on this in our free time, which we don't have a lot of. Support and a growing awareness of the project definitely inspires us to keep going so please consider keeping up with this projecting and spreading the word.


WANT TO JOIN THE TEAM?
We are currently not seeking out anyone *right now*, because it has been difficult to find people who are on the same level about the direction of the map. Hopefully in the next few months we will start seeking people out again for more specific objectives. Primarily, we are going to need builders in the near future and eventually people to transform writing into playable quests using the mechanics developed in pre-production--these jobs could intersect. If a team member impresses us with their game design knowledge and ability on the project (they understand our philosophy and goals) then they will have greater influence over big decisions about the game itself in accordance with me(Jmanch3w) and Echonix.

Furthermore, If you want to help or join our team then read this first. We are looking for well experienced and passionate people for our team, people who will take it seriously. We aren't the most professional team, but we do want some talented people. Simply put, if you think you have good ideas or you could be of use to the project send me a message. Do not take it personally if you are rejected. Me and Echonix work on and off on this map so we aren't expecting anyone to put everything into this, but please, only ask to join the team if you truly want to contribute and have the skills to contribute.

Hello! Been hard at work on building the first chapter of the game. Screenshots below.

We have our full focus on this first section of the narrative that covers multiple levels. I have fully written and concepted this chapter. We hope that this part could become a beta of sorts.

Echonix has been working on AI weapon handling, character/enemy texturing, UI design, atmospheric sounds, and very surprisingly VATS. Previously we thought this wasn't possible but now Echonix has created a test version of it. We are currently testing it, no promises.

Creating basically a game in Minecraft is not only insanely hard but getting it right is even harder. The first year, I had no one helping me, and ever since Echonix joined, we have been iterating on the basics of the map so that they are right and actually impressive...I mean we just added VATS into the game?! With no mods. It just takes a lot of time man, we work harder than it may seem. I hope to show more stuff when I can.

Patience is a virtue, and yes making an actually high-quality game in Minecraft of this scale is a lot of work, even in a small team it can take years. However, what I propose is what you hinted in your latest update log, some smaller releases of parts of the map, it will satisfy some people's hunger and give a nice look at what's coming. The "beta" you're planning to release of the beginning of the map is a great idea, I'd definitely focus on that, so you can give people at least something for now.

This project is one I'm very keen on seeing done and working as intended, the aesthetic alone is awesome.
