About the project
This project was born as a product of my university thesis in which I researched how videogames can be used effectively for the marketing of cultural places, among other things. I used Minecraft to recreate this italian city demonstrating how immersive an experience of this kind could be. I'm not the first one doing such a thing since there are also other great examples where Minecraft was used to recreate cities, but I wanted to add my work to the list bringing the spotlight on Ferrara. I only made the exteriors of the buildings, except for the castle which has an interior and I mainly focused on the detailing of the very heart of the historic center due to time restrictions, but a great portion of the city is roughly made as well.
The textures and the models used for the project were not all made by me, but I used two resourcepacks as a base which are Conquest and Miniaturia. For this reason, I'd like to thank them for the permission they gave me for using their block textures and models as well as the Continuum Shaders team for the beautiful shaderpack they made that allowed me to take the screenshots you're seeing. I'd like to shoutout also the minecraft developer community for making helpful plugins and mods such as FAWE and Axiom that made my life easier during the process, as well as the team behind Objtoschematic, a very handy website that helped me getting a base to work with at the beginning.
How to download - Come scaricare
ENG - I left a downloadable zip above called 'Mondo + pacchetto di risorse ( e tutorial )'. Inside, you'll find the world and the resource pack I used. The minimum version is Minecraft Java 1.20.1 and Optifine is required to load the textures correctly, you can find the optifine download here: https://optifine.net/downloads
Some things you see such as the street lamps are made through Axiom, so those will not display in your world while the rest should be working
