The Story:
Welcome to the Final Battleground, the last showdown between good and evil in a world ravaged by the elements and zombie hordes. It is up to you to prevent the impending doom that looks certain to befall the last remaining survivors of planet Earth. Radiation levels are fatal around Sanctuary, the last human colony, but they are very slowly returning to normal allowing further exploration of the apocalyptic wasteland. The last few animals and plants are few and far between, struggling to survive in a world stripped of nearly everything. As if that wasn't enough, huge zombie sieges attack every night as if determined to exterminate the last survivors for good. Can you find what you need to survive in this desolate and hellish wasteland? Can you protect the last survivors and create a safe haven for them?
The Hardcore Challenge:
This map was designed to be played with hardcore challenge rules. The game is simple.
Rules:
1. You lose if you die like hardcore mode.
2. You lose if the population of Sanctuary falls to zero.
Goals:
Compete with your friends and see who can make the most successful colony and highest score!
The score is calculated as follows:
(Day's Survived)x2 + (Current Population of Sanctuary)
The numbers update each dawn and are displayed in your sidebar so we can tell your score from your screenshots! Have fun competing! The current record-holder is Kitten with 13 villagers and 81 days. If you can make it to day 9 life begins to get a bit better as some key items from the wilderness will get uncovered. Careful sleeping in beds as it is possible if you sleep too early at sunset to make your day not count. The game counts days by detecting a full light/dark transition and back so it needs to be completely dark.
Objectives List:
Here is a list of objectives the survivors believe they must achieve in order to bring the new colony to safe and stable conditions for humanity to live in. Can you help them out?
Surviving!
1. Collect some wood from a tree in this desolate wasteland.
2. Trade with one of the villagers to gain valuable resources.
3. Craft a full set of mighty stone tools.
4. Increase building supplies by creating a cobblestone generator.
5. Upgrade the defences to keep the zombie hordes out!
Striving!
6. Start to repopulate by breeding 2 animals together.
7. Renewable Food! Plant 3 different types of veggies!
8. Journey into another realm in search of different resources.
9. Brew your first potion.
10. Increase the human population of Sanctuary.
Thriving!
11. Power up your gear with an Enchanting Table.
12. Keep your tools functional with an Anvil.
13. We need a home! Create a village including:
- 4 types of trees
- 5 types of vegetables
- 4 species of animals
- maximum level enchanting table
- a lake for fishing and swimming
- fully furnished house.
15. Conquer the Wither and craft a Beacon to inspire future generations.
