The Fokker S.14 Machtrainer was one of the first jet training aircraft in the world. The idea for a jet training aircraft came when Fokker realized that the piston aircraft at the time hand an insufficient performance to properly train jet pilots. Rolls-Royce approached Fokker with an engine after unsuccessful attempts to interest British aircraft producers with their engine.
21 aircraft were built and the first one flew on the 19th of May 1951 and was introduced with the Royal Netherlands Air Force in 1955. Other countries such as the US and Brazil were also interested in the aircraft but finally cancelled their orders.
2 aircraft were destroyed during their service and the remaining 18 in service were retired in March 1966.
3 aircraft remain.
First post in a while, I'm currently working on a few other projects ;)
I also made this plane a few months ago but I just felt like posting something.
